Having problems with your Nikon Digital Cameras ?

I have a new (3 weeks) D700 and while taking photos yesterday with camera and a 16-35mm lens, the exposure meter went ape. Pictures taken ok but ERR started to flash where shutter speed reading should be displayed in viewfinder. Tried everything, including resetting to factory settings, detaching and reattaching lens, checking switches, and then went home in despair. At home I switched to a 50mm lens and the problem disappeared. I put the 16-35mm lens back and problem seemed to have disappeared.

Lens problem Hi. I have an Olympus FE-190 digital camera. not sure what happened, but now there is a problem with the lens. when i turn on the camera, the lens extends, retracts, several times (trying to find "home" I think). Image on the display screen is blurry. it WILL take a very blurry picture. there is a faint 'ratcheting" sound when the lens is fully extended. is there a way to 're-set" or calibrate the lens extension setting or focus? thanks very much for your assistance.

Hi all, I wonder if you can supply some advice regarding a Sigma17-35mm lens I purchased earlier in the year. Basically if I use the automatic or 'P' setting on my Canon EOS 30D camera the image is over exposed by 1 to 2 stops. If I use the same functions with my Canon 18 -55 kit lens the exposure is correct so I would presume the camera is not causing the problem. The only way I can get a correct exposure with the Sigma lens is to compensate manually for each shot. Please note the exposure p

Try your EOS in AV (aprature value) mode. You should be able to adjust your aperature value in 1/3 or 1/2 steps dependind how you have your Custom Functions set in your camera's menu. Possibly the lens you purchased is for an EOS 35mm. If you use a 3 ... Sigma Digital Cameras

I have had my camera about a year and have used it in a variety of settings - it has always been great. About a month ago, i started having focus problems. I checked the settings, even reset to default settings, cleaned the lens....9 times out of 10 it still wont focus. To the best ofmy knowledge it has not been dropped or damaged in any way. any suggestions?

Focus problem My grandson just received a new Nikon camera for Christmas. He assembled the wide angle lens prior to doing any other set up. Now he can't focus it without the wide angle lens in place. The camera has auto-focus. Can you advise a fix? We tried the Reset button on the side ,but this didn't fix it. Thanks

The factory presets would not have been affected by your grandson doing as you describe. Depending on what other lenses he might be trying to use, many have a separate switch located on the barrel of the lens to turn auto focus on or off. ... Nikon D40x Digital Camera

Lines I am getting lines on my pictures. I wonder if anyone else has had this problem? I went through the diagnostic testing. That went fine. I reset all settings. I took the batteries out and the memory card for a half hour and put them back in. None of this worked. The best i can explaing is there horizpntal lines through the pictures. Any ideas??? My warranty is long expired. Just wonder if it's worth getting fixed or would it be better to purchase a new camera.

I have the exact same problem with MY HP 945 camera! It had horizontal lines through it in several of the shots. I thought at first it was the memory card, but after using that same card in another (older but still working HP) camera, and swapped in/ ... HP Photosmart 945 Digital Camera

Autofocus malfunction Never had a problem with extreme close-up.  This morning went to take a detail shot and the focus no longer worked.  This happened in all settings. Nothing changed when I tried to reset autofocus settings.  Still completely blurry.  All other kinds of pictures sharp-distant, middle distant.  I bought the camera for it's macro-abilities.  Help!

Autofocus problem I dont really know how to explain my problem.. I got a Nikon D40 for Christmas last year and last week we went on vacation. The camera was working fine. but suddenly the camera wouldn't auto focus. Everything is set on auto.. I only have the lens that came with the camera. The battery is charged.. it doesnt even make a noise like its trying to focus. the wiewfinder bracket thingy lights up red but nothing after that. I am new to photography so I know I probably sound like

I have new Nikon D90 with 18-105 Nikon lens. The only problem with the camera, when shooting potraits in dim light without flash, the pictures get black artefacts throughout the faces and skins. This has nothing to do with the camera, but instead it has to do with the lens you are using. The standard lens you are using has an aperture of f/4.5 which is common across many lenses. If you wish to shoot in low light you need a lower "f-stop". ... Nikon D90 Digital Camera with 18-105mm lens

I have digital camera olympus FE series. The problem started after i used the camera on the beach. Two days after the pictures that i took were blurred. I have a Caonon 40D. I thought I was having a lens problem at first. However after using 2 other lenses I have found out it is my Camera. No matter how clear and crisp the image is in the view finder. After the photo is taken and loaded into PS4. The image is blurry and unsharp. I have reset all camera settings to factory with Canon. And I am still getting the same results. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

It is probably due to dust on the sensor, or sensor alignment not properly done. In both cases you have to take the camera to a Canon dealer for servicing. ... Canon EOS 40D Digital Camera

I own an Olympus E-500. While taking photos over the weekend, the viewfinder went dark (yes, the lens cap was off!). The viewfinder is still darker than it should be. Can you diagnose the problem? Are there settings I should change?

Blurry pics One day out of nowhere I turn on our camera to take a pic and the display is a redish blurry mess, I couldn't even make out any shapes. I went thru the menu's thinking maybe a setting was changed but nothing was. I took a pic thinking maybe it was just the display screen but no. Is it the lens? Has anyone else had this problem?

Hi there. I have an Olympus E-510 that is about 3 years old. It's been working fabulous until just until recently. I connected the camera to my computer and downloaded some photos just like I always do with no problems - disconnecting it as I always do (USB). The next time I went to use the camera, the USB storage screen shows up and I can't get it to go back to the original setting to take photos. I can still download any images from the camera but can't get off that menu. I've tried the reset

I'm not really sure what's going on, but it could also be a hardware problem, or maybe ribbon connector inside the camera from the usb port to the main board, or maybe a bent pin in the usb connector.\015\012Check it out carefully, and remove t ... Olympus EVOLT E-510 Body Only Digital Camera

Even when I change the batteries, when i tried to put on the camera by sliding the front lens cover, the usual display comes in the screen, stay for one or two secs. then went off. I can not take a photo, even i am not been able to see the stored photos. I replace the batteries with new set severel times but the problem remains.

Some of the files that have been stored onto my SD from the camera are screwey. For example, some photos and videos are able to be seen while others say this file isn't supported on the camera when editing or when on the pc, it says something about not having the correct graphics converter. After reseting my camera to factor setting, this problem disappeared but I still can't upload those particular videos/pics onto my pc

Hello I have a problem with the olypmpus stlylus tough 6000. when i turn on the camera sometimes it went to the internal memory, and when i turn off and turn on again it went to the memory card. how do i set it so that everytime when i turn on it will be in the memory card setting? thanks

When the memory card's in the unit, pictures should automatically go to the memory card, so that makes me suspect that the card isn't getting detected. I'm thinking that there may be a slightly corroded contact in the internal contacts in the camer ... Digital Cameras

My D80 suddenly stopped taking photos while I was in Auto mode. I noticed the flash stopped releasing. I've changed lenses, reset the camera's green buttons, switched out the card, reset the clock. It will occasionally take a photo, not necessarily in focus, and the flash will on occasion pop, but I can't figure out what the correct triggers are. Can anyone help? Lens is 18-135mm. Set Lens in in "A" and camera is in "AF"mode. Thanks much.

Won't Focus I have had my Canon Powershot SD1000 for about 9 months now. I have had problems with the lens error and it getting stuck but have always been able to get it to work eventually. I had another bout with the lens getting stuck, was able to get it unstuck but now it won't focus at all. Normally I press the shutter down half way to get it to focus on my subject, but now it simply won't focus. I'm wondering if maybe my settings are off, or if it's an internal problem.
