Answers :

Hi,
Nikon coolpix 800 hardware does not support 4GB memory card as it is too big memory for this model and its hardware is capable to support maximum 2GB memory card.
Nothing is wrong with camera and memory card, they just don't match so buy less size memory card like 1GB or 2GB and it will be OK.
4GB memory card is for latest model cameras that are at least over 10 mega pixels. Nikon coolpix 800 is bit older model and its hardware can not handle 4GB high speed memory card.
Hope these info will help you.
Thanks.
