Having problems with your Nikon Digital Cameras ?

How do I fit the Hoya UV filter that I have been sold with my New Nikon D3100?? Darent be too heavy handed as new to this. Thanks.

Answers :

The filter doesn't go onto the camera, but onto the lens. Assuming it's the proper size, it should just screw into the threads on the front of the lens (the end away from the camera). If the lens hood is on, remove it first.

I am interested in buying Nikon's new digital D60 camera what i need to know is if I can use all the Nikon lenses I have that fit my 35mm camers

The D60 works best with their new "DX" series lenses. Other Nikon mount lenses will fit on the camera, however you will lose many of the functions, primarily auto focus. You need to weigh the pros & cons of using your existing lenses without full ... Digital Cameras

Nikon D40 I bought a set of macro lenses that said they were compatible for the d40 but i cannot figure out how to fit them. They are 52mm lenses - should i have bought an adaptor or something? where exactly are they supposed to fit onto? I am new to DSLR photography, any help would be gratefully recieved

Macro lenses are mounted to your camera body in place of the lens you currently have mounted on the camera. If you bought the camera with the lens already mounted you may not have realized that the camera and lens are 2 separate objects. To remove ... Nikon Digital Cameras

Compare the Nikon d80 to the new d90. Can I use all my manual focus lenses from my Nikon film cameras? Also, all my filters and flashes.

All old lenses will work on the D90 the same way they work on the D80. Filters depend on the lens -- they either fit or they don't -- the camera has nothing to do with that. I wouldn't use old flashes on new DSLRs.There really is no diffe ... Nikon Digital Cameras

Focus problems I have 2 digital cameras already so I know to hold the button down 1/2 way for focusing. The Nikon is new. I HATE manuals. I am having trouble focusing on close up shots. They are either real blurry or slightly out of focus. It seems the shutter speed is so slow that any movement of my hand ruins the shot. I can take a shot of something, a plant for instance, pulled in fairly close. One shot may be ok and the next one is blurry

There are two likely reasons for the blurry pictures. One possibility is, as you surmised, a slow shutter speed. Try mounting the camera on a tripod or other stable support. You might also try turning on the flash. The other reason is focu ... Digital Cameras

Hi,\015\012With auto mode on that camera that is normal I've found. Auto mode on that camera seems to leave the shutter open just long enough to capture the tiniest bit of motion. If you're looking to shoot in a mode where that doesn't happen I sugge ... Nikon Coolpix S3000 Digital Camera

Filter I like to keep a filter on at all times to protect my lens on my new FZ10. I am fairly familiar with the effects of various filters on 35mm cameras but don't know what affects these digitals. I have several UV and Skylight filters around that I can use on my FZ10 with my PD62 adapter. Which works best with digital cams? What do you use?

Skylight filters don't generally block UV, they change the colour tint optically, which you can do without danger of image degredation in post-processing, so I woudn't really recommend using a skylight filter for digital cameras.\015\012\015\012I hav ... Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ10 Digital Camera

Have Nikon Coolpix 885 dig. camera, bought in 2000, still works OK. I had been transferring the photos to my old computer using "Nikon View" 5 version 5.0.0 software that came with the camera and my Windows XP operating system with no problems.
