Someone asked me to take photos with my Nikon D90. I have the 18-105mm lens that I got with it. Is this able to take 'wide angle' photos?? I know there are special lenses made specifically for wide angle photos, but is this one capable of doing so?? Thanks for your answer...sorry if I seem so ignorant....I'm new at this. Thanks again!

Pincushion distortion I've actually had this camera for about 2.5 years now, so presume well out of warranty, but I realise by looking back at my photos that the problem may have been there from the start. When taking photos on the default camera position I get a reasonably severe distortion of the picture, such that a person standing off centre will have his head elongated somewhat toward the corners, and straight lines along the edge will bend toward the corners. This is more than likely a shadow from your lens. The on-camera flash is in a fairly low position, and I am able to duplicate your description when using my D200 on-camera flash and a physically longer lens- in my case a 28-70 F2.8 lens. Using a hot- ... Digital Cameras
