Having problems with your Nikon DSLR D90 Digital Camera ?

I take a lot of pictures and delete the off of my SD card. When placing pictures in folders it seems to have the same numbers and this causes a problem with maybe deleting old pics. Is there a way for the camera to keep numbering in sequence and not go back and use deleted pictures numbers?

Answers :

You have three choices for file numbering, controlled by Custom Setting #D7:

Off: File numbers are always started at 0001 whenever a new folder is created, when the memory card is formatted, or a new memory card is inserted into the camera.

On: File numbers are incremented until they reach 9999, at which point a new folder is created and the file numbering will again begin at 0001.

Reset: The file number is reset to one more than the current number in the current folder. If there are no pictures in the current folder, the number is reset to 0001.

Because the numbering only uses four digits, numbers are going to repeat every ten thousand pictures no matter what you do.

After I take 20 pictures, the camera tell me I have used up my internal memory, but why can I not use my memory 256 card. I just bought a new card because I thought the other one was worn out, but it will not work with this new card. Went on a 3-week trip with my SX120is and it performed flawlessly. Downloaded all pictures upon returning. Hadn't used camera for a couple of weeks when yesterday the screen started displaying a very low resolution frozen picture and the camera stoped responding to all the controls. After about 10 seconds, the camera turned off without retracting the lens. This problem keeps repeating, but not the exact same way every time. So I took the family to Luray Caverns in Virginia last week, and took lots of pictures of my wife and kids in the caverns. As my six year old leaned over the "fried eggs" formation, my Canon A570is beeped. The screen showed the battery was running low, and then the dreaded "memory card error" came up. Are all my pics lost, or is there a way to recover them. I'm using rechargeable batteries, and have not checked the CR1220 internal battery. I'm also using a 4 year old class 2 - 2Gb SD card.

Blurry pics The last time I used this camera, most of the pictures came out very blurry. I had to try to hold the camera completely still to keep them reasonably clear. These were just pictures of people, no sports, etc. It was on the usual auto setting. Even the ones that weren't too blurry were very grainy. It has worked fine in the past and I have never dropped it or gotten it more than rained-on wet. What could be the problem?

''incompatible jpg'' I took the Kingston memory card out of my CanonA720IS digital and moved my pictures to IPhoto on my Mac so that I could edit them. My son cleared the sd card for my dimage e323 using my laptop after down loading the pics. When I re-inserted the card in the camera it now says it needs to be formated. I have clicked "yes" and also gone to the menu and formated it, neither way will work and let me take pictures. I even tried reformating the sd card on my laptop, and reloaded all the pics back on, but nothing works. What can I do to correct this problem?

Camera flash i generally use my camera on auto mode so i don't have to play around with buttons! however after loaning my camera to my sister for a week my flash is no longer as great as it was!!
