How To Remove The Fixed Lens From The Olympus E-10 For Cleaning

\015 My Olympus E-10 digital camera has a fleck of dust behind the attached lens. I need to know how to remove the lens for cleaning? Or how to remove the outer rim that protects the lenses from dust and scratches. I think this dust is a piece of something that must have been there before I bought it because I am not quite sure how it would get there. I have used a UV Filter to protect the outer lens and this piece of dust is behind the main attached lens on the camera. Can anyone tell me how to carefully remove or take apart the outer rim to insure no damage but to clean the partials from inside the camera? This causes a spot on all my photos that I have to remove each time with Photoshop. Not a big deal but now I am interested in selling my camera and accessories and I can't imagine someone would want to buy a camera with dust inside the main focus lens. Any advise would be more than helpful.\015

Hi, how is the best way to clean the lens of the Olympus C-740? I have a fingerprint on it. Is it really true that I have to buy lens cleaner or can I just use a microfiber cloth? Will cleaning it ruin any of the 'covering' on the lens, or is the lens glass? Can you let me know if I need to rub, not rub, or rub in circles, etc? There seems to be a lot of conflicting info on the net. Thanks!

I applied lens cleaning fluid directly to the lens of my camera, a Fuji F50FD digital compact, but it seems to have leaked into the lens housing. Any photos I now take appear with mutiple fine white streaks across them. Curiously, when I shoot in video mode the footage appears completely unaffected. Is this something that I can fix myself - is it just a question of taking the camera apart, then cleaning the inside with care? Or would the lens housing now to be replaced?

This is not something I would recommend you do without the proper knowledge or alignment tools. You would probably just end up with a brick instead of a camera. Sending it to a repair center would be very expensive. Possibly much more than the camera ... Fuji Finepix F50FD Digital Camera
