Having problems with your Olympus Digital Cameras ?

While using my FinePix S6500fd camera with an Olympus xD picture card type M-XD2GM my camera screen displayed " Card Failure ". I had taken many still pictures and changed to Video, as I had previously with great results, after about 20 seconds, blank screen showing Card Failure. On my return from holiday I took camera and card to a good photographer who tested both, camera ok, card no response at all. They suggested that I contacted yourselves and ask for advice. Hi,

Try FileScavenger software and see if you are able to recover your pictures and videos
http://www.quetek.com/prod02.htm

You can test it free with the trial/demo.

You will need a cardreader to connect the card to your computer.

If you are unable to scan the card with filescavenger then the card is beond home recovery and if you must have the contents you should contact a professional data recovery company who deals with memory cards.

If you are able to recover the files with filescavenger, save them to your computer (note that in the trial / demo you won't be able to save the whole files just few bits of them, if it looks good that you would be able to recover the pictures I would suggest considering purchasing the software and then recover the files)

Ones you have saved your pictures, check them out and make sure everything is recovered, note that its not always possible to recover everything and files might be corrupt or incomple. In those cases theres noting you can do. but most pictures should be intact.

Ones everything is recovered you can open up your my computer, then find the card drive, right click and select format, format the card with fat 16(or fat default) or fat 32, try 32 first after its complete.

Take the card and plug it to your camera, if it works normally then all is well. If not , then plug the card back to your computer and format it with fat 16 (or fat default), insert it to the camera again.

if the card is still not working try to format it from the camera itself.

If there is no life from the card in the computer or in the camera, your only option is the professional data recovery service as this can't be recovered at home at that point.

Let me know if you need anything else.

Thanks and good luck.
Ekse

Nikon Coolpix L18 camera LCD screen only shows jumpy lines of images. Took a test picture and viewed through a card reader to find that it is recording images, so the problem is just in the screen. (Also installed fresh batteries.) Camera has been working faithfully on a regular basis. Worked just fine a few days ago. Hasn't been dropped or suffered any 'trauma'.

Hi,\015\012\015\012The fact that the screen is displaying an image even though it is a distorted one of lines in screen indicates that the screen is receiving a signal. This points to a fault with the screen itself and not the camera. ... Digital Cameras

My Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ2 camera has a blurred display within 25 seconds of being turned on when in any mode other than playback. When the display blurs, it quite quickly becomes unviewable, and if I try to take a photo, an error message saying WRITE ERROR PLEASE CHECK THE CARD shows on the screen. The card seems fine and pictures I took before today all look good, both on the display and in a computer. Is there any fix, or do I need a new camera?

This is a problem with the camera lens and yes this can still be fix but you need to have it check on a service center but that price will not be cheap so if I may suggest it will be better to get a new camera..... ... Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ2 Digital Camera

Black Screen I have taken really good care of my camera and it has never been dropped. I went on a Cruise a few months ago and one day into the cruise the screen wouldn't show anything. It was just a black screen. When I took pictures they turned out black too. I am still able to navigate the menus and see pictures on my SD card. Even after returning to Colorado, a dry climate, the screen is always black and taking black pictures. Is there something I can do to fix this problem or should I just

Card Locked! It is definitely NOT the lock tab. This is my sisters camera. She has used this card for a while. She took it out to try out a card I gave her and when she put the original back in the camera, it says "Card Locked!" whenever anything that would alter its contents is attempted. I have tested this card in my own camera and it works and I tried my card in her camera and that works. Why is this one card suddenly showing up to this one camera as locked?

The best solution is to get all the data off of the card then remove the card ... its easier to just replace the card.....but you can try to fix it your self if u think u can simply take a pair of pliers and remove the tab make sure that the sl ... Samsung Digimax S630 Digital Camera

Memory card I love my Gateway DC-T50 but the card fills up too quickly.I have a Kodak SD 256 MB memory card and want to get a bigger one.So I went and got a 2 GB and installed it , the camera screen said This card cannot be used. I took it back to the store and the clerk said it was probably too big because I have an older camera. So I exchanged it for a 1GB and it shows the same error message. My question is; what is the biggest memory card this camera can use? I have misplaced my manual, or I

Polaroid Model a815 just bought yesterday: I took pictures with it and turned it off to get another item to photograph. When I view my photos I have already taken they look good until I try to zoom in, then the photos go fuzzy in multiple color stripes taking over the screen. I put mine back in my camera, took two pictures, and could zoom in on those photos and it was fine, but not on the previous pictures I have taken. I did plug my camera
