Having problems with your Olympus Digital Cameras ?

Olympus Stylus 840 will not work after I erased all the pictures from the menu option. Menu appears but does not work, camera buzzes when power is turned on, zoon is jammed in extended position.

Answers :

You will probably have to update/upgrade the firmware. Go to the Olympus website and search for the latest firmware version of the camera and download to your PC. You can then install it into your phone.

You can first try a hard reset..Remove the batteries and SD card, wait a few minutes and replace with fresh batteries and see if this helps. you can also try tapping a side of the camera on the palm of your hand to try and dislodge the lens..

Hope that helps.

All the actions expect taking photos, are "jammed", nothing works. Also, when u turn the camera on, the zoom will go to its most extended position and won't return back.

The internal zoom switch is stuck in the extend position. Don't normally recommend opening the case, but in this case (pun intended) it's necessary. You'll only need to disassemble the camera enough to remove its front face. ... Canon PowerShot A540 Digital Camera

This camera was working fine, was turned off, and then a day later wouldn't work. The LCD screen on back works only if the Mode Switch is in the review mode (or DOWN), and does not light up under the picture taking mode (or UP) position. Also, while the switch is in the UP position, the ON/OFF power indicator button no longer stays lit. It does, however, stay lit in the Mode Switch in the DOWN position. First problem in three years. Nice little camera.

The following is not a battery problem and the camera has not been dropped. It worked normally, I turned it off, and the next day when I turned it on, here's what happened -- and has happened consistently since then: I turn the camera on. The lens extends fully. I hear 4 distinct buzzing sounds from within the camera. The LCD flashes with an image for a split second. The lens retracts fully. I hear 3 beeps from within the camera. The camera shuts itself off. All this happens in not more

Hi. I have a Canon G9 camera. I bought in October 8, 2007 but did not register the camera's warranty until a few days ago. Here's the problem. I dropped the camera a weeks ago... Everything was working fine, no problems. After I bought an extra battery I tried turning the camera on but would not power up. In fact will only power on if I insert and remove the battery several times. Once I get it going, however, it powers off with the lens extended. Please tell me what my options are, s

My olympus stylus710 digital camera is currently not working. when we turn the camera on the lens opens and extends, quickly retracting. this happens several times before the unfocused screen turns blue and D: 5f08 5e02 comes up on the screen. once its in this mode no buttons work except just to power it down. any ideas on how this can be fixed? thanks

Camera was on, working fine. When powering off, telescoping lens did not retract so lens remained extended just a bit with lens cover open. Waited a few minutes, turned it back on and I get the "access" display message then the beeps and (turn power off and back on) message. While off, I have removed the battery, replacing it with a fully charged spare and it still does this. The lens tries to telescope a little bit and retracts a touch, but I can't get the camera out of this mode. Can it be res

Fuji a345 I have a 2 year old Fuji a345 which periodically has a problem with the lens cover not opening and, of course, the lens not extending into position when the camera is powered on. Generally turning the camera off and on a few times will eventually result in the lens cover opening and allowing the lens to extend into proper position for shooting pictures. Any ideas.

Dropped my Olympus FE 3010 and unsurprisingly it's not working.... Everytime I turn the camera on, the lens extends halfway, then stops. The camera beeps at me, the green LED turns orange and the camera becomes unresponsive until I remove the battery (including the Power button). Any ideas on how/if this can be fixed? I think getting professional repairs will cost more than the camera did...

Hi there, I purchased a Casio Exilim Ex-S880 8.1Megapixel Digital Camera last Christmas. Intermittently the camera just stops working for no apparent reason. The power just turns off with the lens in the 'out' position. It will do this with a fully charged battery and has to be left for maybe an hour before it will work again. Have you any idea what may be causing this? The camera has never been dropped or abused in any way. Thanks for your help. Regards, Colm

Lens Jam My G6 turned on accidentally in its case and the lens tried to extend but was forced to stop. Now, when I turn the camera on, the lens makes a ratcheting sound and gets halfway before stopping. It beeps and says "LENS" on the top LCD screen, before powering off. I've been quoted £160 just to have it looked at which is half the value of the camera! Does any one know how to open one of these up (safely) and what to do when you get inside to fix the problem?! Many thanks

My Kodak V1233, isn't working right. If I turn it on, it will only turn on a second and extend the lense and then shuts off (it's fully charged). Lens problems I recently purchased a Kodak Z7590. I have only used it a couple times. My daughter set it on the couch (still on). When I sat down beside of it the camera slid down behind the cushion.
