I just found my husbands old Minolta maxxum 5 AF Zoom lens camera. I don't know how to zoom in. I am trying to take close ups of my infant and it appears that I can only zoom in on objects 4 feet away. Anything closer is out of focus. Can someone please give me a brief "how to" on this camera? Thank you

Hello. I bought my Powershot SX1 IS in April 2010, and have never felt I could get good photos with it. The 'noise' seems bad, when I playback and zoom in just one notch, definately worse, the more I zoom. The color is often poor, and the focus on close-ups is not sharp. Would you say this is the best this camera can do, or would you say there is something wrong with this particular one. (I always have it set at highest resolution , often 100 ISO, try the set of three exposures to get diffe

Fuji finepix s1500 - difficult to get it to focus at close macro. I found that I have to have the lens at its widest angle for the camera to focus on a close subject - like at 2 cm like the manual says. If I zoom up just a bit then the focus changes and my close subject is out. Is this the way it is supposed to operate?

Yes. You won't have the same macro focussing ability at all focal lengths. But usually the important thing is that it's not how close the camera can focus, but how large the image is, so you'll often find that a longer focal length (i.e. ... Digital Cameras

Hi there i have a auto focus problem. i used mt 50D for the first time on saturday, after about 100 shots Err99 appeared, i turned the camera off and took the battery out an the error message never occured again, however since then the camera will not auto focus correctly with my 17-40 IS lens. the lens has worked perfectly on my 20D for the past couple of years. Focus problems I have 2 digital cameras already so I know to hold the button down 1/2 way for focusing. The Nikon is new. I HATE manuals. I am having trouble focusing on close up shots. They are either real blurry or slightly out of focus. It seems the shutter speed is so slow that any movement of my hand ruins the shot. I can take a shot of something, a plant for instance, pulled in fairly close. One shot may be ok and the next one is blurry

There are two likely reasons for the blurry pictures. One possibility is, as you surmised, a slow shutter speed. Try mounting the camera on a tripod or other stable support. You might also try turning on the flash. The other reason is focu ... Digital Cameras

Is there any way I can get my camera back to normal! I turned it on and it said "focus error". When I shut it off to see if it would start over correctly it would not close the lens. I turned it on and the lens closed and then opened again and wouldn't focus. I turned it off and the lens won't shut. How weird is that? It obviously is capable of opening and closing but seems to be reversed and makes a funny noise when it can't shut at the right time. Can I wiggle or giggle something? I bo

Nikon Coolpix S50 has screwey autofocus when I shoot close-up. I select my subject, center it within my frame, depress the shapsot button half-way in order to initiate the autofocus function...
