Wine spilled on camera

\015 Camera not working. Buttons not working. screen displays when linked to computer, card cover open warning displays when linked. Unlinked nothing displays. Will not turn on or off. only way to turn off by removing battery.\015

Answers :

For sure your buttons are contaminated. About all one can try in this case is to take the camera apart and spray some electrical contact cleaner to try to clean it up as best you can. There are usually 5 or 6 very small phillip's head screws that hold the camera body together, but you will have to be careful taking it apart since the back of the camera is connected to the main board by ribbon connector(s). You can carefully lift the tabs on them, and disconnect them, then inspect the camera for areas that were possibly effected by the spill. Spray them good with the cleaner, and allow them to totally dry, before turning the camera back on. You can reconnect the ribbon cables to test the camera before putting it back together, and, with any luck, get it functional again. Oftentimes the damage is too severe to be remedied, even with a good cleaning, but there is always a chance. If you need to know more about the procedures of disassembling the camera, there are many videos on YouTube that show how, just looks for videos on "Digital Camera Repair". Sometimes you can get lucky and find your make and model, but they're all basically the same, with minor variations. Good luck, hope this helps, and hope you get it back into working condition!

Shutter malfunction few weeks ago I moved and when I began unpacking and got to my camera, I discovered that something had spilled in the box and was coating the camera. I dried it off as best I could, and turned it on. It worked normally. A few days later, I noticed that whatever had spilled on it, that I hadn't been able to clean off, formed a strange gel like coating around some of the buttons. I again cleaned off what I could get to, and again, turned the camera on, and about a second later,

Camera shutdown I've had my Canon Powershot A85 for around 2 years. Around a few dats ago, I was showing friends pictures from a holiday to America, when it appeared the batteries had run out, but the lens never retracted, which it usually would do. I attempted to turn the camera on again, and it turned on for a split second, but i never thought to look at the screen for an error mesage, but it just turned off again. Nothing was spilled on the camera, and it wasn't dropped, or any other

I have a Nikon Coolpix S200 and yesterday during my nephews birthday I sat in on the kitchen table, left to play guitar hero, came back to see my camera completely covered in milk. I dont know how long it was laying in the spilled milk..and yes..there is use in crying over it. :( I grabbed the camera, dried it off, took the battery and memory card out. I got a wet towel and got all of the milk I could get out but it was in the battery compartment and everything. Put the battery back in and tried

You have dried milk in the lens area... u will have take chances on moving the lens around to get the dried milk from around it. If the lens is stuck out just lightly oush down on it and it should work. ... Nikon COOLPIX S200 Digital Camera

Kodak V1003 A few weeks ago, shortly after I'd taken a pic, the lens refused to retract and the camera switched off. It has never been dropped or had anything spilled on it. Strangely, when I press the button furthest left the camera comes on, allows me to view pictures on the card, set the time etc - everything except take pictures. Again when I try to switch off, the lens does not retract. Does this not suggest a software glitch of some kind?

No, unfortunately that is a problem with the hardware, software would not prevent the lens from retracting.\015\012\015\012If it is within manufacturer's warranty (usually 1 year) take it to any Best Buy they will send it out to the mfg f ... Kodak EasyShare V1003 Digital Camera
