It is a hard drive camcorder meaning that all the information is on a onboard hard drive on the camcorder itself, the manual tells you how to transfer pictures and how to "back up video files to the computer" but the files are not viewable on the computer and must be "transfered back" to the camcorder to be watched... help.

Panasonic SDR-H40 Camcorder. When I transfer my video file from Panasonic's Video Cam Suite software to my PC (Windows XP) it will not play in Windows Media Player, and in Cyberlink Director Express I can play the video but there is no sound. My earlier videos seem to work fine however. I notice that when I copy the files from the camcorder now, there are now 2 accompanying files ".MTV" and ".MCS" and previously there was an ".MTV" and a ".MTD" accompanying the main MPEG-2 video file. My camera (a Canon PowerShot SX10IS, if it matters) has this tendency to move in and out of focus when I'm using the video recording feature. For example, I can start the video by filming a stationary object (let's say, a person speaking at a podium a meter or so away) and the video will be in focus. However, even though the person in the video isn't moving except for subtle hand gestures, the camera seems to start to try to focus on something else deeper in the background or closer in the foreg

I have had a Nikon CoolPix L110 for 10 months. I've never encountered a problem transferring pictures from my camera to my computer during this time...until now. When I connect my camera using the USB cable, Nikon Transfer opens as usual, but nothing happens after that. The source is not showing the camera. The camera works fine. I can view and take pictures.
