I have a Sony Handycam DCR-HC27E Camcorder which was working great until a few days ago. my problem is its suddenly not showing my recorded tapes, I was watching footage only a few days ago from my recent holiday, the images were starting to get grey stripes across the screen, thought this was due to a low battery, put in a new one, still no images showing. Put in other prrecorded tapes they are showing nothing as well. Then I tried to record which works fine, but when I played it back its still

The gray strips usually mean the camera has dirt video heads - if it hasn't been dropped. Get a head-cleaning tape from Radio Shack or Best Buy, and run it a few times. If that doesn't do it, it'll have to be cleaned by a repair shop. Off brand ta ... Digital Cameras

It seems like your carriage unit needs servicing.. basically the gears that load the tape and move the tape wheels have become worn.. You can attempt to repair this your self at the risk of rendering it useless. YOu can call a service center and let ... Digital Cameras

You could have a bad head on the unit, or some other problem, which could involve many possibilities. The unit will have to be troubleshot, and then you will know what it will cost to restore operation. Often, it's just better to get another one ... Digital Cameras

Panasonic NV-DS27EG problem: sudden degradation in function following (though could be coincidence) first ever use of DV-out socket on camera (to connect Dv-in on Panasonic DVD recorder). First symptom: no picture displayed when attempting to play back a tape in VCR mode. Second symptom: power light stayed on even when camera switch was at the off position. Third symptom: message in viewfinder asking for the reset button to be pressed. Found and pressed reset button then: Fourth symptom: "to ser

I have a Panasonic camcorder NV-GS70B which writes to mini DV tapes. I am now finding that on playback of tapes I have recorded it is losing the audio signal on some tapes. Some of these tapes I know originally had an audio signal recorded. Someone has suggested there may be a build up of oxide on the heads which might have been transferred to some of the tapes. I have tried a head cleaning tape (twice) but without effect. I have two concerns: 1) the camera - can it easily be repaired 2)

Hi,The video tape runs through a path which includes video heads and an audio pick-up head. This audio head reads the magnetic information on the tape and then sends it through an audio circuit for processing. If there are any particles t ... Digital Cameras

Cannot get tape recorded from JVC GY-DV500U to play back on any other deck. It will play back on this camera and I suspect a tape speed difference, but I don't know how to change it on camera. I recently had this camera worked on by JVC repair center for eating tapes. This fixed that problem but now have this issue. They replaced a small plastic gear and a circuit board. They have not answered my email concerning this issue.

This situation is usually caused by a slight misalignment of the recording head. When this happens, the recorder will record, but the tapes can only be replayed in that recorder. I would keep complaining to them, as repair for this could run a few ... Digital Cameras

Yes, the problem with electronics is the US uses NTSC and most other countries use PAL, it changes how the tape head alignes with the tape. You have to insure the device you have is both (most devices are) so try and get into the menu settings and s ... Digital Cameras
