Can I adjust the shutter speed on my Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ5 so I can take pictures of waterfalls with the water blurry and the background in focus? Can I adjust the depth of field so my subject is in focus and the background is blurry?

You're asking a lot of a point-and -shoot camera. For the waterfall, set your ISO for the lowest setting and put your camera on a tripod. Shoot when the day is cloudy. For a shallow depth of field, the best you can do is use the zoom at maximum and s ... Panasonic DMC-TZ5 Digital Camera

My Panasonic DMC-TZ5 will no longer focus, especially after using zoom. It displays messages re shutting camera off and on, takes 30 seconds to turn off and sounds like a ticking clock! It is only 3 months old. This is easily the worst digital camera I have ever bought and the Internet shows many people have the same problem with this camera. it should be withdrawn!!

If you mention "ticking clock" sounds, then most probably something like a grain of sand fell into the cogs in the zoom mechanism (been taking pictures on a beach? ;). Dirt gets into the mechanism through the gaps between the zoom barrels and the cam ... Panasonic Lumix DMC-FS5 Digital Camera

Blurry images I purchased about a year ago a new Panasonic DMC-TZ4. And up until this point, I was in love with this camera. However, just recently, sometimes when I turn the camera on, the screen is showing images to be out of focus and blurry. All the settings are correct. Some times it stays like this for hours. Other times, I can turn the camera off and then back on and the blurriness goes away. Twice the camera has frozen and I had to take the battery out. And some times when I turn the cam

Sounds like a lens problem. If you've ever let the camera "auto turn-off" as a power-saving measure, any button pushed will turn it back on...even if it's in a case or your pocket. This puts strain on the lens as it tries to come out...result....lens ... Panasonic DMC-TZ4 Digital Camera

Hi--I have a panasonic lumix DMC-FP8, which I bought in May 2010. The camera is great for outdoor landscapes, etc. but I've had problems with low lighting and red eye. The camera has trouble focusing on the subjects, and there are often white spots all over the picture (even though I've cleaned the lens and checked to see if there were scratches or dirt on it). In addition to this, I have the red eye setting on, but I still get really awful red eye in all of my pictures. The camera is still new

Olympus SP-550 UZ won't focus properly most of the time. Focus point should be infinity since my subjects are seascapes, sunsets and clouds. I've tried all 3 AF focus modes but none work consistently. I can get it to focus sometimes if point the camera at the ocean first. I've even tried manual focus but it won't focus to infinity. I tried to take a shot of the Vanderbilt baseball stadium, and it came out a little soft and out of focus. I was in Apperture priority at F8 to maximize the depth of field, exposure compensation -2/3EV, metered in the field, and tried to focus on the two guys sitting there in the midfield. Tried one shot AF, the manually tweaking it in OIS mode 2. On screen it looked fine, but on the computer screen not so much so. What could I have done to make it better? How can I set the focus to infinity?
