Having problems with your Panasonic Lumix DMC-FS5 Digital Camera ?

Bug with the DMC-FS5"please turn camera off and then on again"

\015 The camera don't take pictures anymore. When you turn it on, the lens keep moving forward and reverse, as trying to focus onto something and after a few seconds, I get the message "please turn camera off and then on agin". I can still watch previous pictures and can still connect the camera to the computer. Don't know if it is related but it happened just after I had placed the SD card in a computer SD reader to give someone some pictures and then put it back in the camera. I tried the "not scientific" solution posted here (try to change de mode and try to take pictures until the problem stop) but it won't work!need help!\015

I had the same problem and did what was advised in the non scientific way. Tap the camera off your leg when its open and this seems to dislodge or re align something and then it worked again. Not a mad hardbang but a smack.
Hi!
It sounds like the lens focus is stuck - could be sand, dirt or mechanical impact received. I'm afraid you will have to give it away for a repair - it's not a software problem, but hardware.
I have repaired a lot of Lumix cameras with this problem.

Hope this helps!

Panasonic Lumix DMC-LZ2 Image 'melts' into streaky vertical lines when camera is turned on. This problem started occuring immediately after I found my kids deliberately turning the camera off while jamming the lens cover open, so they could get the 'turn camera off and then on again' error message (yes, I know - they've been banned from touching it again). I confiscated the camera, turned it off and it sat unused for about 3 days. When it was next turned on, the image on the LCD screen was

Blurry images I purchased about a year ago a new Panasonic DMC-TZ4. And up until this point, I was in love with this camera. However, just recently, sometimes when I turn the camera on, the screen is showing images to be out of focus and blurry. All the settings are correct. Some times it stays like this for hours. Other times, I can turn the camera off and then back on and the blurriness goes away. Twice the camera has frozen and I had to take the battery out. And some times when I turn the cam

At that point the lense retracts and comes out again at once; more "hard work" noises and a new "turn your camera off" message.
