Sudden loss of use of a Lumix DMC-FX30

\015 1. Lens doesn't retract when camera is turned off.\015\0122. When camera is turned on, lens retracts then protrudes immediately and a message appears on the screen, saying: PLEASE TURN CAMERA OFF AND THEN ON AGAIN.\015\0123. We've done that multiple times, with no change in the situation.\015\0124. We've studied the User Manual and can find no way to do a full system reset on the camera. Is there one available?\015\0125. We've tried the suggestion that was given for another Lumix model (zoom out while turning the camera on). This was of no help.\015\0126. For now, the camera is unusable.\015\0127. Do you have any other suggestions?\015\012Many thanks for any advice you can offer.\015
