Having problems with your Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ18 Digital Camera ?

I am missing a large group of photos on my SD memory card but the photos that are on the card BEFORE and AFTER the missing group of photos are numbered consecutively with no gap in the numbering sequence. How could this happen? The missing group is pretty big (100+ photos) and the camera seemed to be operating normally at the time. Any ideas/ explanations/suggestions? Thanks!

Hi Jame23a,

A memory card is structured like a hard drive. It has folders and they have sub-folders.

Many cameras automatically separate pictures that were taken at different settings (image size, resolution, motion) into their own sub-folders.

When accessing them from a computer, the separation is easy to see. On the camera, not so much.

There is an option in viewing to select the images. The sub-folders that separate your pix will be grouped in with the rest of the pix on the primary storage folder. Select that.

Best regards
Mike

Photos taken now not visible on memory card. I'm currently on vacation and have been taking photos on my DMC-TZ5. Camera has been working fine, until yesterday. I took a number of photos of a particularly memorable day when none of the group had a camera with them. Every time a photo was taken the image was displayed for a second before being able to take another shot. A number of times I went back to check the photos, each time the photo was visible. However, when I returned home and p

Shutter Lag-Time The shutter lag-time on this camera seems quite long to me. I have read the manual that came with the book as well as a "short course" book on the G6 and this isn't really mentioned. I am wondering if this is a problem unique to my camera or if others have noticed this. In "AUTO" mode it is the worst. Am I missing something, or is this just the way the camera operates?

The G5 has a rather short shutter lag and a rather lengthy focus lag. So if you half depress the shutter release to focus, and then moments later fully depress the shutter release I expect you will find very little lag. But I would not expect a prosu ... Canon PowerShot G6 Digital Camera

Long Photo-Taking Hello, I have an S400 with a pretty fast memory card... It seems like its taking a longer time to take a photo than it used to? I dont know If i changed any settings that may be slowing this down. Basicly I turnt he camera on and sometimes I have to hold the capture button down for 3-5seconds before it will actualy snap the photo, Any suggestions??? I'm prety sure it hasnt always been this slow.. I got a new battery etc.. Thanks!

Most cameras take a little longer to capture the photo in darker conditions, with a moving subject, things like that, though if the photos you're taking now are under the same conditions as the ones you used to that shouldn't be the issue. I have a Fuji S 5200 Digital camera and the SD card kept coming up ''write Error'' every time I took a photo. I have replaced the card with a new one which worked for about the first 20 photos, 2 weeks. It now keeps coming up ''Card not initialised'' each time I turn on the camera. I just got my camera back from Canon but it still isn't working right! I took it in because when I turned it on it said NO CF CARD. They fixed the metal prongs. Now, it still doesn't work to store or view photos on the camera without a cf card. I inserted my old CF (undamaged card) and formatted it and now it seems to take photos BUT nothing shows on my camera viewfinder when I go to take the photos. It shows I have over 3000 photos on my card but they will not display. Help!

Missing photos Hi, IF photos were there and are not showing up, is there a way to look at the camera's internal memory in case they are still there? How do I switch between the camera internal memory and the memory card to find my missing photos? I took my first 6 photos. Went home, loaded the software on my laptop. All working fine. I normally use a small 32mb memory card in the olympus D-390 but used an olympus fe-130 over the holidays with a 256mb memory card. I do not have the usb cord for the fe-130 so I put the 256mb card in the d-390 camera and plugged it into my computer to load up my photos but I get a blue screen on the camera with options of Power off or format. Is the card too big for the camera? it works fine in the other to let me take photos and view them, if I had the cord for it or went to a store to print
