Having problems with your Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ18K Digital Camera ?

Blur on fast moving objects

\015 I have the DMC FZ18 and have been trying to take good photos of divers without success. I have tried altering the shutter speed, using maunaul, automatic, indoor sports mode, panning and several others but nothing seems to work. Sometimes I can get quite a good image of the diver but it isnt a sharp picture, These are being taken inside the pool area where there are spotlights. Do you have any suggestions as to what setting I might try next.\015\012\015\012Thank you\015

Try lowering the quality of the pictures. It will allow a faster shutter speed since it doesn't need as much data to make the picture. Try throwing a ball into the air and playing with the settings until you can get what you need.

Focusing K so when I'm taking pictures, it focused on the object but then blurs out the background. At times I don't want the background to be blurred out, how do I make it to where that doesn't do that?

You'll have to set the aperture to a higher number. Set camera to Aperture Priority mode and increase the number (usually set at 2.8). The higher numbers will preserve foreground and background focus but will require more light - not a problem in out ... Canon EOS 500D / Digital Rebel T1i Digital Camera

My camera (a Canon PowerShot SX10IS, if it matters) has this tendency to move in and out of focus when I'm using the video recording feature. For example, I can start the video by filming a stationary object (let's say, a person speaking at a podium a meter or so away) and the video will be in focus. However, even though the person in the video isn't moving except for subtle hand gestures, the camera seems to start to try to focus on something else deeper in the background or closer in the foreg

Lens Problem I have a C-8080 and I like it but I'm not sure if it is working 100%. The lens barrel is sloppy from side to side and clunks slightly when moving it quickly. It has been that way since it was new. It has some issues with auto focus as well. It has a hard time focusing on clouds and soft objects at infinity. I called Olympus when I bought the camera and mentioned the sloppy lens barrel and they told me that that is the way there made. It is slow to focus when going from close objects

The lens play is normal. The focus is not the fastest, which is a shame because the camera powers up instantly! There are techniques to minimize the focus lag if you choose to keep the camera (e.g. hyperfocal; pre-focus w/manual focus lock). Its a gr ... Olympus Camedia C-8080 Wide Zoom Digital Camera

Shutter Lag All, I have an Olympus 5050 Digital Camera that I have been using for a while now for home use and I am quite happy with the results. The only complaint I have is with the capture speed of the camera. The shutter lag seems to be about between 3-5 seconds which becomes quite obvious while taking pictures of moving objects (moving kids). I don't know if the issue is with the shutter speed of the camera or with the slower memory cards. I am using the SimpleTecg 256 MB Compact Flash card

Card speed won't interfere with shutter lag.\015\012\015\012The lag is much less (near non-existent) if you pre-focus. Or use manual focus with small enough aperture to get lots of depth of field. Make sure your kids are in the focus zone and just sn ... Olympus Camedia C-5050 Zoom Digital Camera
