Sometimes the autofocus doesn't work. It is switched to af. When I turn the camera on it will normally focus but after 1 or a couple of pictures it will not autofocus. If I move the switch to Manual I can take the picture and then if I move the switch back to m/a it will focus and keep focusing and I can take a few few more frames then then the auto cocus stops working again and I have to switch back to M and so on. I was taking pictures into bright sunlight switching between manual and automatic settings, and manual and automatic focus. First, the picutre would take, but the shutter would not open (viewfinder would remain closed) switching from manual to automatic focus fixed this issue. Dark photos I am a new Nikon user and have the D80. This is way more camera than I will ever need. I can not take pictures without them being dark not even in the auto mode. I have a Nikon D80 and the camera locks up and won't take a picture - the F keeps blinking and it won't lock into a f3.5 or whatever so you can take a pciture - why would this happen ?
