Having problems with your Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX3 Digital Camera ?

How can I lower the power of the flash lamp on the Lumix LX3 ? Mine is way too powerful but I can't find a setting on the camera.

If you don't see the flash compensation feature by pressing the +/- exp. comp. button 2 or three times in PSA or M modes then you may need to get the newest firmware version (version2.1) as I have done that and I have the flash exp. comp. feature. Updating is not too hard and this one includes other cool new features that you should like.\015\012You can get it here http://panasonic.jp/support/global/cs/dsc/download/LX3/index2.html
I don't know your particular mode, but what I do with digital cameras is I use them in the program mode. I then can set the iris priority to under expose by the number of required stops. \012
\012On some of the regular cameras, and most high end cameras they have an EV (exposure value) setting. This gives very good control for overall exposer compensation. \012
\012If your camera cannot be exposure compensated, you can try putting gel type neutral density filters in front of the flash unit. These come in what looks like a mylar type sheet. They come in different values for density. Normally you would buy a range of values so you can adjust them. I used to buy these from a photo equipment supplier in sheets. I still use these with my digital camera equipment. \012
\012You may want to have some in ND-1, ND-2-, ND-3, and ND-4. Then you can use the right combination to find the correct flash exposure you want to use. \012
\012You can stick the filter in front of the flash unit and hold it in place with some masking tape. \012
\012When using filters in front of the flash, you may have to use the camera in manual mode. This will prevent the automatic mode from over compensating for the change of light from the flash. With this you will have to do exposure tests to find the correct setup. \012
\012In the film days, I used to use a flash meter (I still use a flash meter), and calculate the distances and theoretical exposure. Then I would do the tests in a series that I logged on a work chart. After processing, I would see which frame came out properly, and then use the settings as my reference for that photo job. \012

Blurry pictures I've had this camera for almost a year and everytime I want good pictures (vacation, birthdays, xmas) I'm disappointed with the quality of my pictures. So many of my pictures turn out blurry. And sometimes they'll look fine when reviewing on the camera, but when downloaded to my computer, the quality is poor. I have just bought the Kodak M381 camera and when I set the date and time and click ok, the time is set but does not display on the LCD screen at any point, so when I review my pictures there is no way of knowing when I took them. Error I was erasing an image on my cf card in camera last week and being it was a tiff I set the camera down as the hourglass spun in the processing mode. I took my memory card out of the camera, put it in my computer, and proceeded to download. It showed 200+ pictures, then there was nothing but 31. I can not find where these pictures went. I was never in a position to even delete these. They just disappeared. A friend of mine told me that her sister did the same thing, and the camera didn't show them, and somehow, through the support for that camera brand, was able to retrive them. Is there any way to try this on a Kodak camera?

Camera turns itself off too soon. There must be a setting to change the length of time from when you turn it on until it turns itself off, which is currently about 15 sec. Very annoying when you turn it on the camera comes on and works fine. Why does the FinePix E510 pictures download from the camera at 72 dpi when the camera was set to take 500 megapixel photos? I cannot find any way to adjust this in the finepix manual or in online help. I was helping someone download pics from his new camera and tried both Adobe Photoshop album starter and the finepix software. But when i open a photo in Photoshop, it says the photo size is 72 DPI. (My nikon doesn't do this when downloaded.)
