A red image pops up when I take a pic

\015 Everytime I take a pic I have a little red box pop up on the upper right hand corner and in the box it has an arrow pointing in the box I wish I could see images just to show you. I thought my memory card was full so I now have deleted all my pics but it didn't solve my problems. Any help would be great\015

Hi,

I have an DMC-FZ7K, I know exactly what you mean.

The red box with the arrow inside it flashes because the camera is writing the pictures or videos to the SD card.

When you stop taking a video, the box disappears, because the video has finished transferring to the card.

This red box is perfectly normal, and nothing to worry about. Furthermore this has absolutely nothing to do with the battery being dead or the card being full.

When the battery dies, only the BATTERY ICON flashes.

When the SD card is full, a message saying so pops up on the screen.

\015\012I didn't see any other error messages on the screen indicating that icon unless b,c, or d models have a different error message in that area of the screen.

Will sometimes take images that are blurred and a browny red colour! This is inconsistant, I can take a really nice pic then the next one is blurred. I know the pic is going to be a bad one because usually you press the button and the pic shows up on the screen, if it is going to be a poor one, the screen stays blank for at least 30 seconds before displaying the image. I would rather have this problem fixed than have to buy a new camera!

AF problem Last week I took some pics that needed the flash turned off. I did that and took the pics with no problem. I turned the flash setting back to "auto" afterwards. (this may not be related to the current problem but does seem too much of a coincidence). Next time I went to use the camera, I got an AF(red dot) and a red hand on the screen. It would take one picture and then would be frozen (no zoom, no picture taking, but the screen would stay on). If I turn it back on I can then ta
