I bought a spare battery DMW - BCG10E for my Panasonic DMC-ZS3 Digital Camera but it doesn't work since the firmware is meant for Version 1.1. Should I try to downgrade my firmware to V. 1.1 in order to be able to use that battery? Or, is it going to affect the quality of playback HD videos? In any case, I tried to download the firmware Update 1.1 Driver for Mac OSX to be able to use that battery but couldn't find any internet server capable of doing it. Thanks!
Hi.Most batteries of this kind work with firmware 1.1 and following \015\012(1.2,1.3 and 1.4). They never work with the 1.0 version, which was \015\012built in in earlier DMC-ZS3. Check your firmware version. If you have 1.0 ... Digital Cameras

Battery drainage I have had my olympus sp-550 uz for approx 18 months, and was getting around 175 shots even when using zoom a lot. I am now getting only 20 - 30 shots using new batteries and also getting total drainage over night at times when my camera is turned off. I have been using the same make and type of batteries since I bought the camera.
20 to 30 shots on "fresh" batteries! Do you use the flash on all shots. That really drains them. I would try to set the camera to "factory default settings" in case you changed something that is causing a drain. I hope you just bought some bad batter ... Olympus SP-550 UZ Digital Camera
Battery problem Kodak z712 uses different types of batteries and the one supplied with camera are non-rechargeable lithium type that die down soon. Camera specifications say one can use rechargeable lithium-ion, Klic-8000. Now while replacement klic-8000 are cheaply and abudantly available, is this appropriate to use them in this model? Some say the can leave the camera damaged. I need a solution because I am not getting the original kodak klic8000 in my city.

Monitor unlit I'm using my colleges D40 for my digital photo class. The camera was set by a prior student. I'm trying to find on the camera where the "Auto- Off Timers" is. I'm thinking the camera was set so the monitor is always off avoiding extra use of the battery. It has to be something simple and getting used to moving around the camera program. Thanks

It won't turn on even with a fully charged battery. What do I do? I've owned it for at least 5 years and have three batteries and a pentax charger that turns green when a battery is charged. I put the batteries in correctly. Now the camera will not turn on. My wife was using it on a trip when it happened. I can't seem to get it to turn on now despite trying everything I know and reading the manual. Any ideas for me. Is it possible that all three batteries are too old yet appearing to char

I have a Canon EOS 50D Digital Camera and use 3 different Canon Lenses. I am getting "Error 30". I have taken the internal battery out and re-installed the firmware. At times I can shoot quite a number of shots before getting the error. But, once I start getting the error, it comes about every 4 or 5 shots. I believe this is very similar to the "Error 99" in the Canon 30D, which I also have. The 30D has been sent to Canon for repair and worked for a while and now it gets the Error 99 every coupl

BATTERY I have an older DSC-50 which works great...I bought the new W-170 and they both use the NP-BG1 batteries. I have used the newer battery in the DSC-50 camera and now when I try to use the orignal older battery my camera tells me (For use with compatible battery only) and then shuts down. I can still use the new battery in both cameras. I get the same response from the W-170 with the older battery. Battery has been great and has been holding a good charge... Any ideas? I have a sony DSC-W150 and the camera turns on but it says "for use with compatible battery only" and then turns off. I talked to a sony representative and they told me to take the battery out and then hold the power butter for 30 seconds but that didn't work. I bought a power adapter for the camera, but it doesn't seem to work without batteries in the unit. Battery life My AA 3000mah batteries don't last 30 mins before the camera switches itself off, indicating that the batteries are flat. When tested on a multimeter they read 1.24volts. The manual say I should get 300 shots using 2500mah batteries. The batteries have been discharged and charged up many times but still the same problem. I'm using Nimh type batteries that read 1.35v full charge and 1.24v when the camera shuts off. Is this a common fault with this camera ?

I wonder if this is a common occurrence on this model and how easy it is to get sorted.
