Having problems with your Panasonic Lumix DMC-ZS3 Digital Camera ?

Hi Expert, If I look at the lens of my Panasonic Lumix DMC-TZ7, there is dust in between the front two lenses. What can I do to solve this? Rgds, Aart

Answers :

If you couldn't see the dust when you watch your pics it would cause no problem, and so no one would post anything about it everywhere on the web. So yes, every camera has dust inside it, what if it's visible on the pics? I even can see it when I look at the lense on my cam, it's there alright. Ty, if you have a solution I would gladly hear it, other than "don't worry about it" , because , yes it's annoying and yes I DO worry about it, a lot. So after spending a few hours reading smartass answers on the subject I will share my conclusions here , it might help someone. I guess the easier way is to bring back the cam to the store to be cleaned, and as it's not part of the guarantee: having to pay around 60 bucks for them to do it. and then do it again in a few months because the more you use the camera .. even if you take good care of it , there will be dust in it at some point. :o)
You can find dust in-between the lenses in 95% of all camera. Unless you can actually see the dust on the pictures, it's nothing to worry about. The dust is so out of focus that it rarely causes any problems.

I have Nikon D50 (11 months old) with two NIKON lenses - 18-55 (came with camera) and 70-300 (from my old Nikon F65). I have recently noted a spot appear in certain shots (mainly where sky is present) that is there in the same place whichever lens I use. Could this be a dust speck or similar on the CCD? If so, is there an easy way of cleaning the sensor? Regards Roland Zilz UK

Lens error Hi My Powershot SD4000IS developed a problem after taking it out 4 wheeling.(in a bag, semi protected) a few days later, the lens front cover would not open all the way and I got a black shadow on top and bottom of the picture. Then I took several pictures that are normal and finally the lens will not extend any more and I get a note on the screen that reads : Lens error Will shut down automatically Restart Camera. What could be the problem, could it be dust??

Lens errors are fairly common. Usually it's sand or grit interfering with the lens extension mechanism. Or the camera's been dropped with the lens extended. Or the camera has been powered on, but the lens had been blocked preventing its extension. Or ... Digital Cameras

I have a Canon 20D camera that I use with two lenses. The lens that I have most of my problems with is the 28-70 f2.8 red ring lens. When focusing It always seems to focus on what is behind the subject. No matter how much I concentrate on the focusing sensor to focus on the subject -AND it looks like it focuses on the subject-UNITL I load my photos and look at them in disgust that it focused behind it!! What is going on?? I use the same lens on my friend's cannon 5D and NEVER have this problem.

This is quite a well known problem called 'back focusing' there is little that can really be done about it, except if the camera is under warrnty you can send it in and they will do some laser alignment that fixes the problem, it would be worth a cal ... Canon Digital Cameras

My Nikon D5000 gives out blurry pictures and the auto focus sometimes does not work. I've sent the lens to be examined & repaired and today I tested it again after being repaired. Today I took a picture of a person standing in front of a wooden fence and instead of focusing on the person (which was my intention), the camera focused on the fence. The result: The fence is sharp but the person is blurry. What causes this? Is it the lens or the body? How can I solve these problems?

My D70 (which I just bought on ebay) is having problems with AF. At time the AF works fine but then for no reason it refuses to work for hours to days. I have two bodies so I can swap lenses to see that its not the lens. If I switch to manual focus, it the camera works fine. I can see the little pins around the lens fitting retract when I switch the camera to manual. Seems like a problem with the internals that control AF. No other problems are apparent to me. Any suggestions?

Sounds like a contact issue - either they are not making consistently or they are just dirty. I'd start with a good contact cleaner (Radio Shack or photo store) and spray the snot out of both the camera contacts and lense (making VERY sure to protec ... Nikon D70s Digital Camera

I have a Nikon D40X camera with two lenses - one is 18-55 and the other is 55-200. Unfortunately, when I was at a wedding rehearsal, my 55-200 lens dropped off the pew on to the ground. It was not on the camera at the time and it has not worked properly ever since. My camera works properly with the 18-55 lens. Is there anything that can be done to fix it? Essentially, the camera can still focus, in and out, but when I try and push the button down, to take a picture, it just continues to refocus

Can this be repaired without me having to be without the lens for a long time? (Either by me or a local repair service?)

Without seeing pictures, I'd say you could TRY some plastic epoxy or some type of plastic-specific adhesive. i'm assuming you have the pieces that were broken off. otherwise, i'd say get a new lens...they are relatively reasonable used. ... The battery of my samsung s860 was recently dead so i though that was why the lens wouldnt go out all the way. I have tried two new sets of batteries and the camera is reacting the same way. The lense wont go out all the way, a blurry image is projected on the screen then the screen goes black, the green light flickers, it beeps rather obnoxiously three times and the lens retracks again as it turns off. can my camera be resuscitated!?
