Having problems with your Pentax K100D Digital Camera ?

After changing batteries the shutter activates on any setting

\015 Any change of "any setting" which includes Menu, Info, OK etc activates the shutter but does not take a picture. I have solved this problem several times just by fiddling with the settings randomly but actually do not know exactly what I did to correct the fault.\015

Four possibilities:
\015\0121. No SD memory card in camera or not seated.
\015\0122. Using a 16GB (or larger) SDHC memory card - not supported
\015\0123. SD memory lock switch is on (on the memory card itself)
\015\0124. You may be "sliding" the shutter switch, which takes a picture but does not save it. This is used for testing your exposure. You must press the shutter button straight down (I know this sounds silly, but I had to post this for anyone else that may have a similar issue).
\015\012Hope this helps!

The view finder or screen are black. The lens moves out when the camera is powered on, I can hear the shutter click when pushed; the telephoto is moving; I have all the settings show on the screen when the camera is powered on but I cannot see anything through the view finder or on the screen and no image is captured when a pic is taken. I changed the batteries and it made no difference.

I know it may sound like the shutter is moving, but you're going to have to actually look down the lens barrel to confirm it's actually moving, and not just producing a sound effect from the camera. Also keep in mind Canon's SX IS series cameras are ... Canon PowerShot S3 IS Digital Camera

Canon SD900 selection options not responsive. The selector wheel, Function Set button and menu selector only work from time to time. Even if pressing the ring brings up info to the LCD, nothing can be changed because the Function Button and the Menu button are not active. This is a random problem. Sometime, I can bring all functions back to life by removing and re-inserting the battery and restarting.

Sounds like the board has become damp and possibly corroded in certain parts this causing the random effect with the buttons their isnt much you can do unless you can remove the case yourself and give it a good clean but doing this is extremely diffi ... Digital Cameras

I own a D90 and of late have had problem getting the shutter to actually fire and take a photo at times. It will work sometimes and not at others. I have tried changing the memory card - putting it on manual etc but still won't work. The battery is fully charged. It occasionally comes up with an r05 and r21 code in the R lower box and a flashing F at the top R when this seems to happen. I haven't played with the settings all that much - just since this has begun happening. Can you make any sugge

The r codes you mention are related to speeds of buffering information onto the memory card. A high ISO NR setting on the camera has a huge impact.... the cross over point is 800 ISO. If you have it on, and are on 800 or over, the remaining buffer ca ... Nikon Digital Cameras

I have had my S9600 for 4 years, for most of that time, when i changed the batteries, all my settings remained the same. Now, when i change the batteries, every setting has returned to factory standard (stupid beeps and whirring noises, no date etc) and i have to reset everything. The user manual has no mention of an internal battery, but i figure there must be one and it now needs replacing. How do I do this?

Over exposure The exposure settings on the camera have suddenly become fixed - I can't change them either through fixing shutter speed, OEV, or any other settings. Even tried a factory reset by selecting 'initialize' from the menu, but the problem persists. High or low exposure settings are visible on the viewfinder (i.e. changing the settings shows the picture getting darker or lighter on the screen), but once the picture is shot, it's fixed at an overexposed state.

This sounds very much to me like a short circuit causing the batteries to drain so quickly. The most common cause would be moisture or water damage. Another likely cause could be a malfunction of the control circuits causing the unusual power drain. ... Pentax Optio E10 Digital Camera

Battery Problem My 18-month-old Canon A70 is giving "change the battery pack" message and turning off constantly, even though I have fully charged three different sets of new rechargeable batteries and rotate them as soon as the message comes on. Continuous shooting I'm new to this so bare with me. I just got my Nikon D60 and I want to shoot pictures in continuous mode. I set it on manual, go into the menu and change it to continuous. I rotate the dial so it changes the shutter speed but when I take pictures it's just a black screen. As a matter of fact any time I try to take a picture in M it's just black. I'm hoping that there is just a setting I need to change and there's not something wrong with my camera. Thanks.

Hey man. Im not sure how new you are but basically i think your problem is you need to decrease the shutter speed to around 1/200-1/250 of a second and increase the apeture to around f10/12 and see if that works. If your operating at a high shutter s ... Nikon D60 Digital Camera with 18-55mm lens

I think I'm going to explode if I hear one more "worn out battery" explanation for what seems to be a pretty common complaint. This is my 3rd camera...all ending up with the same problem. I've had the Canon Power Shot A570 for less than a year. Someone suggested changing the settings...but even with brand spanking new batteries, I can't even get it to last long enough to get into the settings. There is clearly a problem here that has NOTHING to do with the blasted batteries.

Sounds like you have a faulty board in the camera or it could be something as simple as a software upgrade, I know some of the Fuji Hine Pix had the same problem and it was the software. Take it back to the Canon. ... Canon PowerShot A520 Digital Camera

My d90 flashes an err sign somtimes when i shoot at manual mode.. but when i change my apperture and shutter speed setting, it will not appear anymore. Even at auto mode sometimes it flashes an err. Does the d90 flashes an error when you made wrong setting in your apperture and shutter speed?
