Having problems with your Pentax Optio 60 Digital Camera ?

I'm confused about the batteries, it says to use AA batteries and I bought a charger and batteries but it won't hold a charge for more than 10 minutes. What do I need to do to get a longer charge with the battery? Thanks

Hi,
In my opinion, new batteries are just fine and holding proper charge, check these batteries in any other gadgets for confirmation.
Also check battery compartment terminals in camera as if they are clogged/ have corrosion that could be cause of improper contact thus initiate low battery sign, make sure contacts are clean and shiny. If that does not help then your camera got problem in its power supply section that is irreparable and main board will be replaced that would cost you new camera price.
Hope these info will help you.
Thanks.
Some types of digital cameras will work longer with rechargeable batteries than others. I can't use them with my old Olympus FE310- the 1.2 volts per battery just isn't enough to last for more than a few pictures. Use Alkaline batteries, and you will have better longevity.

I have a powershot a620. The battery compartment is coming undone...where you hold it..so the batteries have a little jiggle room. When it first "popped out" a small amount it was fine. on a recent trip it started coming apart more and the batteries then quit holding a charge. A fresh set of batteries now lasts about 20 min. I am guessing it might be because they don't have as good of a connection but I cannot get that part of the camera to go back under the "lip" and am afraid to take it apart

When I press the power button for my Olympus FE-190 to turn the camera on nothing happens. I haven't used it for a while so I initially thought that the battery might not have any charge. When I put the battery in the charger the charging light stays on for a few minutes and then goes out. I'm wondering if the battery needs replacing. I don't use the camera very often, have had it for a few years and, stupidly, have a tendancy to leave the battery in it when the camera is not in use.
