Having problems with your Pentax Optio E10 Digital Camera ?

When I turn the camera on, the lens cover opens and then closes. When I turn the camera off, the lens cover closes and then opens. So, how can I get the timing of the lens cover correct? Or can you tell me how I can keep the lens cover open all the time? (not the best solution but now I can't take a photo at all!)

My camera turns on by itself even with the slide in front in the closed position. The screen then shows the warning that the lens cover is closed. When I open and reclose the lens cover in 10 or so seconds the camera turns itself back on and repeats with the lens cover closed warning. The only way for me to turn the camera off at this point is to remove the battery. Help!

Most likely some dirt, dust, or other particle is jamming the lens opening gears. You can try to spray some compressed air into the lens assembly, hopefully dislodging whatever is obstructing the lens cover. If this doesn't work, the camera wil ... Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T77 Digital Camera

Lens Error I fell while holding my camera. The lens was open at the time and when I got up I turned the camera off. I then turned it back on to check it and the lens opened and immediately closed with the "lens error" on the screen. I can turn it off and on and the lens will always open but closes as soon as it has opened with the lens error on the screen. The shutter opens but closes also, like the lens. Can this be fixed? My FE-360 keeps shutting down with the lens stuck out. When you try and turn it on you can hear the lens trying to retract but it stays stuck out and the camera makes a bleeping sound. Is there any way I can get my camera back to normal! I turned it on and it said "focus error". When I shut it off to see if it would start over correctly it would not close the lens. I turned it on and the lens closed and then opened again and wouldn't focus. I turned it off and the lens won't shut. How weird is that? It obviously is capable of opening and closing but seems to be reversed and makes a funny noise when it can't shut at the right time. Can I wiggle or giggle something? I bo

When switched on the camera tries to open the lens. It is clearly being obstructed in some way, and after three attempts closes down with the message "Please turn camera off and on again". If tapped gently sometimes the lens will open, and if the lens is caught and encouraged to stay out then ooccasionally the camera opens as normal. If the lens does stay open the camera appears to function as normal.
