It has progressed so rapidly that the dor is now cracked completly in 2 and the battery conduct plate is all that is holding it together. I love this camera but the door design is very faulty and the batteries force it to push out and crack. I havent been able to find anyone able to fix it. Now I'm stuck with a perfectly good camera that is useless ju

Okay I doubt this can be fixed. I accidentally slammed my camera (canon powershot SD1000 Digital Camera) in the car door. It was in my jacket pocket my jacket was tied around my waist and I was climbing into a 68 camaro convertible. There is a dent on the lens side near where you open the battery & memory card compartment. The camera will not turn on and the memory card won't be read in any drive I try it in. I had awesome pix of Mt. Rushmore. :-( Any thoughts?

Most cameras take a little longer to capture the photo in darker conditions, with a moving subject, things like that, though if the photos you're taking now are under the same conditions as the ones you used to that shouldn't be the issue. Where can I get hold of a replacement battery door for a Fuju Finepix S5700? I've trolled the web and can't find anyone with one for sale. The lugs on the battery door have snapped and won't hold the batteries in anymore. I've got tape on it at the moment which keeps stretching after a while. I don't really wan't to use a bodge job like tape or rubber bands - I'd really like to get hold of a spare part that I can fit myself. Any ideas?

Fuji S5000 camera problem....The battery door will not latch because the cheap plastic retaining nipples inside the battery box have worn down/or broken. Tape will not even hold door closed! The retainers on the hinged door are fine (naturally it's the body!) The retainers don't meet each other as one slides the door closed and the spring loading makes the door pop open. Can a person use machine screws and latches or what??? (Velcro?...probably like tape that won't hold)
