Having problems with your Pentax Optio S6 Digital Camera ?

Exposure Control I have an Optio S6 that I accidentally dropped into a building's girder while doing Kite Aerial Photography. From that point on I've gotten very poor exposures. Out at a beach the photos were totally black. There are only some small nicks right above the flash, but my guess it was a pretty good hit. I took it to a Pentax Repair Center but the cost of repair equalled the cost of a new camera. I hate to just throw it out, any suggestions?

Answers :

I have had both a Olympus and a Fujifilm and when i got a quote to get fixed the quote was more than the camera was worth so i claimed insurance and upgraded to the next model for under $100

My Flash stop working, do i need to replace it? The built-in flash does not stay up. I can hear the clicking sound when it wants to pop up, but it stays in place. At this point it's pretty easy to open it manually, so I noticed what it seems to be a small spring on the right hand side. I guess it is there to hold the flash and it looks like it is off it's place. Is there a picture somewhere of how it is supposed to assembled? Thanks in advance, Gene

Dropped Camera I leant my camera to someone and now it won't turn on. The front of the camera is slightly separated from the back and top (the part with buttons on top). Any suggestions? I'm tempted to open it with a small screwdriver and manually put the camera back together but I'm afraid that it's probably not a very good idea. I can't bring the camera in for repair because I'm in Rwanda and can't necessarily find a canon expert here. Any help is appreciated!

Lens inoperative? When camera is turned on, there is no image on the screen, just flashing horizontal lines. It will take a picture and the flash goes off, but the result is a picture of the flashing horizontal lines. Any fix for this? Is the camera repairable? Would we send it back to Canon for repair? What would be the approximate cost? Thank you.

I've had the 5700 since 2003, which at the the time I paid $1200 for it. E-Bay is now selling for a bid of $85. At any rate, I cannot manipulate the menu to make any settings. I have no idea where to get an estimate for a repair & let's face it, the repair would probably cost more then what I can purcahse a new digital SLR camera for with more features than what I paid for the 5700.
