Camera drains battery while off

\015 I just bought the Pentax Optio Z10, the camera seemed to die really quickly only after a few pictures and i would charge the battery and then place it back into the camera i would go to use it a few hours later and the battery would be dead without taking any pictures, i thought it was the battery and went back to the store to get a replacement battery and the same thing happens, i bought the camera in a different city and have left so i am not able to return it, could you please let me know what i should do?\015

Assuming you're fully closing the front slider cover, the power switch is activated by the front slider cover so it may not be activating the switch or sensing that the cover fully closed. Sounds like it needs a professional service.
