When I put the memory card in the camera it says 'cannot read' it. How do I format the card? I know it has the right 'size' memory. The memory card I am using is the same one I used a few months ago and I saved the pictures I took to a computer and erased the pictures off the card. Now as soon as I turn the camera on it says 'This card cannot be read'. Im frustrated as there is nothing in the manual that seems to get my camera working again. I have only had it for a year. Please HELP!

Battery life My AA 3000mah batteries don't last 30 mins before the camera switches itself off, indicating that the batteries are flat. When tested on a multimeter they read 1.24volts. The manual say I should get 300 shots using 2500mah batteries. The batteries have been discharged and charged up many times but still the same problem. I'm using Nimh type batteries that read 1.35v full charge and 1.24v when the camera shuts off. Is this a common fault with this camera ?

Overheat I have owned the Digital Rebel XT (Black Body) for three months now and have found what may be a serious problem for anyone wanting to use this camera out-of-doors in direct sunlight. The temperature specification on the camera reads 32 to 104F. This is NOT ambient temp. This appears to be internal temp of the camera. Using the camera in ambient temperatures above 90F with the camera in direct sunlight causes the case (and internal temp) to rise to a staggering 120F in only 25 minutes.
