When the flash is on, the light is so short that it stops all motion and results in a sharp picture. When it is off, any movement from you as you snap the picture will result in blur.

Blurry pictures Using a point and shoot digital camera, it was set on night mode by mistake. Pictures turned out blurry. The snapshots were taken inside at night using flash in the camera. Probably because in night mode, camera was setting depth of field wrong. So using flash and set in night mode was the problem. But can anything be done to correct the blurry pictures taken in this situation?? Any software known to correct this problem? Thank's, Angela Sapp

Blurry photos THe last few times I have attempted to use my camera I have had two problems. One, each time I turn it on it resets itself as if I have never used it and goes back to the language selection and and I have to reset the date (which I stopped doing because of the inconvenience every time I wanted to take a photo, so now all my photos say January 1, 2000). Also, every time I go to take a photo, the picture is blurry. I have tried to reset the quality, but it's not helping and, admitted

Pictures taken outdoors turn out fine but I wish I could use it indoors as well. I wasn't sure if there were any recommended settings that would make for better indoor pictures? Thank you, Jason S

Focus failure Hi. I hope you can help. I've a canon 40D and am using it remotely with the EOS utility v 2.3. I am only able to take an image when the live view mode is active. When inactive and I use either the shoot button or the timer, an error flashes up "focus failure". The camera focuses fine in live mode. Have dragged my way through the instruction manual and cannot find a troubleshooting section covering this problem. Hope you can help. Thanks Joe

I cannot turn the flash back on. When I push on the lightning bolt button nothing happens, the display shows the flash turned off. Is something wrong with the camera. I have not had it that long and just use the IA mode and I know it worked before; can I reset the camera back to factory settings? I tried all the other modes and was able to use in in C1 but then I was messing around with that and now won't work in that either. Thank you for your help.

Close-up picture Hi! I purchased my camera to take up close-up pictures of handmade greeting cards. The cards are 4" x 5 1/2" with lots of little details. I'd like to show as much detail as possble. I'm not sure what the best setting are? I've tried using the flash, but the whole picture just glares out, the light bounces off of the card and makes a big glare in the center.
