First do not panic! It is possible to recover your pictures if you take care. Take the card from the camera (powered off)and if it has a "write protect" tab then lock it now. Do not try and write anything to the card or you risk causing more problems.\015\012\015\012If you are comfortable with using a PC then you can download a FREE utility that will recover your photos from the following link:\015\012\015\012http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/PhotoRec\015\012\015\012If you need something a little more "user friendly" then you will need to buy the software. If you search the web for photo recovery software you will find many.\015\012One I have used successfully is RescuePro that used to be bundled with some Sandisk products. Now you can get it from the link below:\015\012\015\012http://www.lc-tech.com/software/rescuepr...\015\012\015\012You can try the demo to see what you can recover before buying.\015\012\015\012Remember - Do NOT try & write anything back to the card until you can recovered your pictures to your PC safely!\015\012\015\012Please update the question & let us know if the information given was useful to you - Good Luck!

I can't download my photos onto the computer from my samsung l310w camera. the memory card is sandisk SDHD card 8gb. the camera doesn't seem to be compatible with the card for some reason - when trying to flick through pictures it flashes and eventually says file error. the computer will pick up the photos initially then won't transfer them. my printer has a memory card slot and even that won't recognise the card anymore!

The problem could be that the computer will not read the large card, I know my two year old Acer will not read the 8 gig cards directly from a card reader. The solution may be to revert back to smaller cards. ... Sakar 23070 Digital Camera
