Camera shuts down after shutter button is pressed. It shuts down halfway through the shutter operation. Everything else works fine-reviewing pictures, settings in menu, focusing, exposure settings etc. The camera focuses ok when the shutter button is half pressed then when you press the shutter button fully, the mirror goes up, shutter appears to open then the camera shuts down with no power. Only way to get mirror etc back to normal is to remove the battery and refit. When camera is turned b

My E15 works Ok with my SanDisk 2 GB SD card and with my SanDisk 4 GB SDHC card. It also works without a card. When I insert another card and press the power button, it turns on, but all buttons are locked. The only way I can shut it off is to remove the battery. Cards that do not work: SanDisk 8GB SDHC, SanDisk 8 GB SDHC Utra, 4 GB PNY SDHC.

Whatever is going on here is going to end up being at the card detection level, which means to repair it, the main control board would have to be changed out, and that would be an expensive fix. I couldn't find a model E15 on the net, and am uncer ... Digital Cameras

I bought a power adapter for the camera, but it doesn't seem to work without batteries in the unit. If I use the batteries alone, I will eventually get a red blinking light at the back of the camera, indicating low battery power, hence the purchase of a power adapter. When using both power adapter and batteries, the red light on the front of the camera is illuminated. The green light on the back of the camera is blinking. Hard reset of Nikon s8100? My menu button isn't working at all. The only one that is working is the round scene-selector button on top...and even that one stops working after I press the shutter button (which doesn't respond either). I've tried removing the battery for a few hours and replacing it, but that didn't help. Is there a way to remove the backup battery as well? Is there a button or a trick to doing a "hard reset" without having to use the menu??

Battery charger Hi all - dumb question maybe...I just purchased a second-hand Coolpix 5400 from a camera shop, with accessories but without the original box or power cord for the MH-53 battery charger. I am trying to get the battery charger to work, but to no avail. I already had a couple of figure-of-eight power cords, so I tried to use those with the charger. But the charger appears dead, the charge light is not lighting up with either of them. Do I need a proprietary or a specially-rate

I'm a new user of the D90 (and digital in general), and on my first major trip with it I had problem with the shutter not working. I would take some images, put the camera down without turning it off and move on to the next spot. At the second stop the camera would not work. I'd turn it off, remove the battery, run the lens in and out and eventually it would work again. The message I got was F--, which said that the lens was not installed properly. However the lens was never removed. What's

I have a Canon Rebel XSI. Lately, when I try to turn it on, nothing happens. I know there's a charged battery -- two, actually, because there's a battery grip. Camera dying? It will powerup like normal. But when a CF card (tried different ones)is in the camera and you press the button to take a photo, the screen will either shut off clean or give a flash of scrambled image then shut off and freeze. Wickedwahine Just today, the directional buttons froze up so that the up/down, left/right arrow buttons no longer work to scroll through pictures nor can I use them to navigate menu items.
