My camera dies way too fast

\015 I put brand new batterys in my camera and it died instantly and the memery card doesnt stay in\015

Answers :

If you use a lot of batteries, it is a good idea to have a battery meter (tester). Radio shack has one for about $5. I say this because I've seen a lot of "brand new" batteries that aren't any good, especially imports. AA, AAA, C,D batteries should all read at least 1.5 volts dc. Under test, if the battery voltage drops slowly, it is bad. A very good battery will actually show a slight increase in voltage under load. Make sure the polarity (+,-) of the batteries installed is correct.
\015\012If you are sure you have the correct memory card and it still doesn't stay in, it could be that the retainer tab is broken. If this is the case, try inserting a small piece of paper as a shim, and that may hold it in place.
\015\012If the camera is under warranty, you may want to return it.
\015\012I hope this helps.

Camera dying? It will powerup like normal. But when a CF card (tried different ones)is in the camera and you press the button to take a photo, the screen will either shut off clean or give a flash of scrambled image then shut off and freeze. The only way to reset is to remove the batteries. It is also draining the batteries in the few attempts to power it on. When no card is in there it will stay 'alive' for a bit longer but pressing any button on it and the lense will power down leaving

I occasionally get an err 99 when shooting a sequence. It's as though the images can't be written to the card fast enough and it jams. The only way to reset the camera is to turn it off, remove and replace the battery and turn it back on. My Canon A510 batteries die out at a very fast rate after recharging. They are Ni-Mh batteries. Could this be a camera problem? I have purchased new batteries in the past and the problem still exists.

There are two indications of how the batteries are inserted into this camera. One is on the lid ( + and -) and one is within the battery hold. The ones inside the battery holder are completely opposite of what is on the lid. Which one is the right way? I ask because freshly charged batteries are NOT working no matter which way I insert them. There is NO MANUAL with this camera, which I think is a cheap way for Kodak to sell these things. Very dissapointed with this camera.
