I changed the batteries in my Power Shot A720 IS recently when the low battery warning flashed, and had taken only two photos when the warning flashed again. I moved the mode switch to playback and the screen went dark "Change batteries now" appeared. I turned off the camera, set the mode switch to shooting, turned the camera back on and was able to take two more photos before the low battery warning returned and prevented any more picture taking. I purchased and installed new batteries and f

Dark photos I am a new Nikon user and have the D80. This is way more camera than I will ever need. I can not take pictures without them being dark not even in the auto mode. This is inside or outside I have two lenses and have switched them and it's still dark. I was able to change the exposer to get them lighter but would think you could take pictures in auto that would be fine.

A85 Dead During a normal session, switching from picture-taking mode to view mode, the lens would not retract and the picture in the view froze with the current image. I could not turn off the camera. After a while, the batteries got very hot, so I removed them. I took out the CF card. Later, I replaced the batteries and the put the card back in. The camera worked very briefly, but the LCD view would not work, displaying flashing lines on a black background. New batteries didn't help. The camera

When I turn my 550 PowerShot on, I get a blank screen (black for the most part with white camera symbology around the screen, such as the flash symbol, etc). The screen works, as I can click a picture and see the photo momentarily. I can also view my saved pics. When I select the film mode, the screen looks normal.......meaning it displays a color image of what is in the lens. Have I inadvertently selected a mode which is causing this phenomenon?
Think that you might have accidentally pressed the DISP or DISPLAY button on the back of your camera. This manually turns the LCD display on and off to save batteries. You would then use the optical viewfinder in its place. To turn the screen back on ... Canon PowerShot A550 Digital Camera

When I take a photo with my Nikon D90 in auto mode and flash i get a dark spot on the bottom of the image on the lcd that resembles a shadow. there is no shadow in the picture. What is casuing this?
This is more than likely a shadow from your lens. The on-camera flash is in a fairly low position, and I am able to duplicate your description when using my D200 on-camera flash and a physically longer lens- in my case a 28-70 F2.8 lens. Using a hot- ... Digital Cameras
My Canon PowerShot A85 hasn't been used much. Every now and then - when I switch the camera on - I just just get purplish mess on the screen. It's not the screen itself that doesn't seem to function (the review mode with taken pictures does work). The CCD seems to be malfunctioning. But then, after a while and while, the camera just decides to act normally again. Could it be I need new firmware? If so, how and where can I download that? Thank you for your attention. Frank.
This sounds like it might be a defective CCD imager, and is a known defect for your particular model camera.. If so, Canon should fix this for you for free if you live in the US, Canada, and a select few other countries. If you live outside the US, ... Canon PowerShot A85 Digital Camera

Fujifilm A330 My camera is doing something rather strange; it's always switched on by sliding the front shutter open all the way, and it's ceased turning on when I do that.
