Types of filter lenses to use with DSC-F505 camera
\015 As an up and coming buyer of the DSC-F505 camera, I would just like to ask the advice of any digi-cam experts here. As most of us already know, the DSC-F505 comes with Carl Zeiss lens, thus the first thing that comes to my mind when I buy it is "BUY SOMETHING TO PROTECT IT"... otherwise if anything does happens to the original lens, I could say bye bye to my new camera!\015\012\015\012Anyways, on to my question for anyone, what type of filter lens would you recommend me using with the DSC-F505? I do know there are quite a number of different types and brands of filter lens in the market. First and foremost, I would like advice on types of filter lens and their functions as well?? (ie. uv, polarizer, neutral-density, or whatever other types you would suggest?), and secondly, what brand name filter lens I should stick with??(why, why not, or it should not matter at all?)\015\012\015\012also, are there any drawbacks with attaching filter lens to the camera?? I was just thinking to myself that by adding additional lens to a camera that sports a "carl zeiss" lens system, it would therefore degrade the quality of the picture wouldn't it?\015\012\015\012BTW, just out of curiousity, if I was to add a filter lens to the DSC-F505, would I still be able to attach the lens cap back on the lens body when the filter lens is already attached to the camera??\015\012Thanks for any help you can offer!\015
I bought a Hama skylight filter for the express purpose of protecting the lens. I've not noticed any degradation in image quality. Of course, ultimately the filter will block some of the light that's hitting the CCD, but it's so little as to not be noticeable.\015\012\015\012Being as the lens cap clips into the thread of the lens then yes, it does still fit perfectly into the thread of the filter, so no problem there!

I bought the battery from an ebay seller and received it today. I inserted it into the battery slot and I got a message stating " for use with compatible battery only" . I charged it for 2 hours and I got the same message. has anyone had this type of thing happen? Could it be the battery or am I using the wrong battery type. Please advise. Thanks

My Sony Cybershot DSC-V3 Camera refuses to accept/recognize it's own batteries. Tried new ones and battery from identical working camera, no luck. I found a Quantaray 55-52 mm step down ring (Manufacture # 241664614) on Wolf Camera's website that I am interested in purchasing, but want to make sure it would work for me. I have some close up lenses (Hoya) for my old Canon SLR film camera (55mm) and was hoping I could use those lenses on my newer Nikon DSLR (52mm) camera. Would the step down ring make it possible to attach and use my old camera's close up lenses on my new DSLR camera? Thanks, Jerry
No. The 55-52mm step-down ring will let you attach a 52mm attachment onto a lens with a 55mm thread. You want a 52-55mm step-up ring. ... Digital Cameras
BATTERY I have an older DSC-50 which works great...I bought the new W-170 and they both use the NP-BG1 batteries. I have used the newer battery in the DSC-50 camera and now when I try to use the orignal older battery my camera tells me (For use with compatible battery only) and then shuts down. I can still use the new battery in both cameras. I get the same response from the W-170 with the older battery. Battery has been great and has been holding a good charge... Any ideas? I have a problem with my sony cyber-shot dsc T-3. Everything is all right except that there is probably a problem with the lense as the image (on the screen when I want to take a photo or film) is not right (it is pink, dark with lines on it). It is not a problem with the screen, because I can look at my photos / videos which were done before this problem happened. I think it is because I tried to use the camera in a hospital (I had a baby last week) when I was in a surgery room. Maybe too magne

Compare the Nikon d80 to the new d90. Can I use all my manual focus lenses from my Nikon film cameras? Also, all my filters and flashes.
All old lenses will work on the D90 the same way they work on the D80. Filters depend on the lens -- they either fit or they don't -- the camera has nothing to do with that. I wouldn't use old flashes on new DSLRs.There really is no diffe ... Nikon Digital Cameras

Lense error- can hear lense trying to open, but lense does not come out of the camera body. This is weird because the camera was not dropped/hit/damaged. I used the camera to take night images of a rising moon. It took pics fine, but about an hour later when I tried to turn the camera on to review the pics, I got the lense error as noted above. 4 days later, same problem. The manual doesn't have any troubleshooting for this problem. Any suggestions? Anyone.....? Thanks for your time!
