The capture is always so bright

Check out page 44 in the manual - linked here - for a discussion about Exposure Compensation. If this is set to something other than 0, the light meter results will be processed as usual but the result will be bumped up or down depending on whether a negative (darker) or positive (lighter) exposure compensation value has been selected.

If this does not solve your problem, you might want to review the manual completely and reacquaint yourself with the camera controls in greater depth. Come back with additional questions, but include the settings and mode you're shooting that is creating the problem.

Long Photo-Taking Hello, I have an S400 with a pretty fast memory card... It seems like its taking a longer time to take a photo than it used to?
