I got my camera wet!!!
\015 Yes i know. its so stupid of me to get my camera wet but it happened anyways. i put a bubble blower in my bag and unfortunately it spilled. as soon as i found out, i started to wipe away the soap. and the inside of the camera looked dry. but i took out the battery anyways and recharged it. however when i put it back in again, it doesnt turn on and it makes noises. i think i really destroyed it. is there any advice? and do u think they would give me a new one cuz i still have my 1yr-warrenty, please reply asap.\015\012thank u\015
Basically a bubble blower has a thick concentrated solution of soap. if any amount of this solution happens to enter even the lense assembly and you have given enough time to dry it up , it must be creating a friction in the movement of the lense assy. this will not allow the camera to switch on and will make noise.

Hey so I took my camera to the beach one day and despite the great lengths I went through to keep my camera away from the water, a wave got to it and it got wet. I assumed it only got wet on the outside and didn't really look elsewhere and went ahead and turned it on. When it wouldn't turn on, I checked the battery and there was a little smoke coming out of the battery slot. Apparently some water had gotten into there so of course I freaked out because my extremely expensive camera was n

I dropped my camera in water, the lense got moisture in it but was working right away. I had opened the inside of the camera to make sure nothing got wet. I set it out to dry. The lense is dry of moisture but the buttons wont work and the camera wants me to input the date. But, since the buttons won't work I can't, and now I can't take picutres.

Battery? My sister got my Sony Cybershot wet...not submerged or anything...just wet. At first I thought it was broken b/c it would not turn on but I plugged it into the wall charger and it turns on just fine and takes pictures and everything..but the second you disconnect the wall charger from the camera it turns off...no juice at all. I'm wondering if I should waste money on a battery or just buy a new camera. Any suggestions? Could it possibly just be the battery?

I have a Nikon Coolpix S200 and yesterday during my nephews birthday I sat in on the kitchen table, left to play guitar hero, came back to see my camera completely covered in milk.
