Did not drop or hit the camera, but on the P position cannot get a clear focus as it is mostly white. Depressing the Expose button half was shows clear for a moment before getting ready to Shoot. On the Automatic position it is fine

Since the camera focuses in the auto position, we can eliminate the focusing ring assembly as being bad. That leaves the most likely suspect to be the circuit concerned with the P function, which will most likely relate to being a slightly loose ri ... Nikon D80 Digital Camera with 18-135mm Lens

Nikon Coolpix S50 has screwey autofocus when I shoot close-up. I select my subject, center it within my frame, depress the shapsot button half-way in order to initiate the autofocus function... The camera then begins to slide between out-of-focus, to in-focus, then keeps on going to out of focus again, and then slides "back" to an out of focus position! I understand that it is "looking" for the sharpest image as it does this--- but what it consistently selects is NOT the sharpest image! Ide

Used Vivitar 70-200 zoom on my K200 Pentax. Nothing but aggravation since. Right now the 18-55 lens it came with is on but shutter button is stuck in down position and my flash wont pop up using the manual "up" button. When I look thru lens and push button, flashing "F" is the only thing there. Removed lens and button would move enough to "click" but would not come up. Put lens back on and nothing! Coolpix L5 was functioning perfectly until today. Now it boots normally, focuses normally when the shutter button is partially pressed, but does nothing when the button is pushed all the way down. It will not shoot stills or video or even self-time a still shot. It behaves exactly as if the actual shutter release button is broken and doesn't make contact at the full pressed position. Green light on camera back to the right of the 'delete' button continually flashes on-off about 1 second intervals as soon as battery is inserted as long as CF card is in place. Switching camera ON produces no visible operational indicators. Depressing "Menu" button flashes: hour glass; menu display; blank screen. Holding button down just cycles as above. Swapped lens, data card, battery, connected EH-5 power source; nothing makes any difference. Checked same lens in another D70 camera; it's OK.

I would start by looking into the memory card slot to see if you have a bent pin. You may need a small light and a magnifying glass to see them. If the pins are okay, then you can try a reset by holding down the BKT and metering buttons toget ... Nikon D70s Digital Camera with 18-200mm lens

This camera was working fine, was turned off, and then a day later wouldn't work. The LCD screen on back works only if the Mode Switch is in the review mode (or DOWN), and does not light up under the picture taking mode (or UP) position. Also, while the switch is in the UP position, the ON/OFF power indicator button no longer stays lit. It does, however, stay lit in the Mode Switch in the DOWN position. First problem in three years. I have a Digital Rebel 40 D camera less than 1 year old and I removed the memory card and I cannot get it to go back into the slot.
