Having problems with your Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-W12 Digital Camera ?

DSC-W12: the batteries last only a few minutes before they're drained. Camera draining batteries very quickly.

Answers :

If its a Lithium ion battery(similar to a mobile phone battery) then open battery compartment, clean battery contact points and try again after recharging the battery. If the camera uses AA batteries look for the current ratings on the side of the battery, generally digicams need batteries with more than 1200 mAh (I use a 2000 mAh for my Canon SX110 IS digicam). This current rating may vary for different manufacturers.

My Sigma SD9 rapidly drains battery power; and I don't mean over a short period of time, but over a few minutes. Regardless of new or fresh rechargeable batteries, the drainage is frustratingly consistent. Have had the camera quit responding regardless of 3 sets of AA rechargeables, or non-rechargeables with more than 3/4 capacity left installed within 45 minutes of my last attempt to use this camera at a Botanical garden close to where I live. My Canon powershot SD20 seems to constantly have a drained battery. I have two batteries for it, and each one seems to be good for about five minutes, then the camera says change the battery pack and it shuts off. But when I plug the battery in to charge the green fully charged light comes on within a minute. Are BOTH of the batteries defective, or is this a problem with the camera itself?

My small handheld video camera "Aiptek ISDV2.4" has a battery life of literally 1 minute. Even when I replace the batteries, they still only last for 1 minute. I have tried rechargeable batteries, but those don't seem to help at all. I really want normal battery life for my video camera..

I have a canon SD1100 I just purchased and after a few minutes the camera will not shut off, the power button won't work and I have to open the battery cover to turn it off. Somehow this completely drains the battery too every time even if it was just charged. Also the camera turns itself on by itself about 10 minutes after you put the battery in it and once again you can't turn it off. I got another battery and the same thing happens. Otherwise it works fine.

Sony DSC H5 runs down batteries very rapidly. Much faster than when the camera was originally purchased. A pair of new AA batteries only lasts for 12 - 24 photos. 7 May 2010 Hi there, I have an Olympus camera that I bought in June 2007. I had a two-year guarantee, which ran out last year. Now my camera won?t come on. Now, however, I?ve had no low-battery warning light and one minute the camera was working, the next it had stopped. After leaving my Sony DSC-T2 camera unused for only a couple of days the battery was flat. I recharged it fully but again it only lasted a day or two. I assumed the battery was dead and I purchased a new Sony NP-BD1 battery and charged it correctly. This new battery is behaving exactly the same as the old one, only holding a charge for a day or two at most. It seems the camera is draining the battery when it is switched off, or maybe the charger is faulty ??? Any ideas?? many thanks - Geoff
