Lens jam I have the same problem

Answers :

I've been tempted to throw my camera out the window recently. Having the lens open and then close a few times and then the blasted camera tells me to turn it off and then on. So I did. With zero results. *grrr* Thank goodness I found this sight! Gently tugging on the lens didn't work, but banging it lightly against my desk a few times did! WHOO WHOO! I hate that I have to abuse my camera to make it work, however... it works now and I'm delighted! :)

Lens jammed??? Okay, Sadly, I did drop my vivicam4345 digital camera, while trying to take pictures... T_T I guess in a momentary lapse of judgement I failed to put the strap around my wrist.. but whatever, it still happened.... sooo.... my problem is this: Everything on the camera works, except the lens, I never get a "lens error" message either, however, now that it's been dropped the lens does not go completely inside/flush to the camera....and the inner ring of the lens does not really exten

Lens Jam My G6 turned on accidentally in its case and the lens tried to extend but was forced to stop. Now, when I turn the camera on, the lens makes a ratcheting sound and gets halfway before stopping. It beeps and says "LENS" on the top LCD screen, before powering off. I've been quoted £160 just to have it looked at which is half the value of the camera! Does any one know how to open one of these up (safely) and what to do when you get inside to fix the problem?! Many thanks

Lens error. On power up, lens moves forward and backward but does not focus properly, and then camera gives the display 'Lens error'. Appears to be an electronic autofocus problem, rather than lens motor jamming due to grit etc. No unusual noise, anyway, from motors.

My L730 was knocked off the table and seems to have now jammed, when I turn it on it makes 3 loud beeps then the screen goes blank. The power light stays on but it doesn't seem to be attempting to do anything. The lens is still out. I've tried removing the battery and waiting before replacing it then turning it back on and I've also tried gently manually moving the lens but the problem persists. Very Infuriating as I recommended this camera to others, 2 of which have bought one since !! Can anyb

Hi, allow me to suggest using another lens to see if you still see the dark patches in the top corners. If not it is the lens, if so it is the camera. Either way it sounds as though something is maladjusted. Call Nikon digital 1-800-645-6689. ... Nikon D80 Digital Camera with 18-135mm Lens

Camera jam Ricoh Caplio R5 - tried to switch it on to take a picture, and lens came out part way but the camera then switched off. Flat battery perhaps, so charged battery overnight and tried again with similar results. Lens still part way out, maybe some whirring noises, screen flashes but then camera switches off. Any ideas? Dead battery / broken charger? - or problem with camera? And how to check (I only have the one battery)

It turns on but won't take a picture when you push the button! I downloaded the pictures on the card because I was told maybe it wouldn't worked due to a full card. Panasonic Lumix DMC-LZ2 Image 'melts' into streaky vertical lines when camera is turned on. My Olympus u 750's telescopic zoom is jammed in the extended position. The cause seems to be the last segment of the zoom, containing the lens, which is not properly aligned with the other retractable zoom segments. I don't remember knocking the camera - not sure how this happened. Is this a common problem that can be fixed by gently forcing the crooked segment back into it proper place? Or if it has to be sent for repair, is it worth the trouble and cost?

Lens Error I recently had a problem with my Casio QV-R4... every time I'd turn it on, the lens would retract and I'd get a "LENS ERROR" message on the screen. I talked to customer support and they told me that Installing the new version of their firmware, v1.01 would fix this problem. I've since installed the new firmware version, but I am still receiving the lens error. Has anyone else encountered this problem? Does anyone know how to fix it? Please help!!!

Hi Guys, I am hoping that someone can offer some explaination for the following. I bought a Nikon D7000 in November and it has suddenly started displaying 3 small doughnut shaped marks on my images. I have not removed my Nikon 16-85 lens from the body so I would not have thought that sensor dust was the problem. I have a new (3 weeks) D700 and while taking photos yesterday with camera and a 16-35mm lens, the exposure meter went ape. Pictures taken ok but ERR started to flash where shutter speed reading should be displayed in viewfinder. Tried everything, including resetting to factory settings, detaching and reattaching lens, checking switches, and then went home in despair. At home I switched to a 50mm lens and the problem disappeared. I put the 16-35mm lens back and problem seemed to have disappeared.
