I got my camera wet. After drying it as thoroughly
\015 I got my camera thoroughly wet. After drying it as much as possible, the power comes on and the lens opens, but the screen is black. Is the camera ruined, or can you tell me what to do? I used a hair dryer (not hot) and opened everything that could be to get it dry. I recharged the battery as well.\015
That's not the way to dry out a camera. The electronics need at least a week to dry out. You should have buried it in a bowl of dry rice and left it alone. Just turning it on while moisture is inside will short out the circuits.

I have a DSC H10 camera. Today I put it in a plastic with a water bottle that wasn't close tightly. It got wet and now I've taken out out the battery and the memory card. I let the water drain out, I wiped out the battery chamber. I turned it on a few hours after the damage was done and the screen is not very bright. Also, now I can't access my photos, but I could earlier. What do i do? Do I have to let it dry out for 24 hours before turning it on again? Do you think the damage is permanent?
