Having problems with your Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W55 Digital Camera ?

Flash off mode and want flash on

\015 In the menu under iSCN it says Burst Settings "Burst" and this seems to be how I am unable to ever use a flash or any other flash setting. Any suggestions?\015

Answers :

The Burst setting takes a series of photos, and as such the flash is not usuable as it would not charge fast enough.

I suggest you inititialize the camera -

Turn camera on
Press Menu
Scroll all way across to the right to 'Setup'
Scroll down to the 3rd icon
hit righ hand scroll button, then down to Initialize
Across and up to OK
Hit middle key, then up to OK again and middle key

Camera will turn off, then on at date setting screen
Set the date, and camera will be back to factory seting with the burst off, and flash modes available :)

Hi, I've just recieved my nikon d90 back from a repair and service, and although everything appears to be working fine, whenever I want to change shooting modes,( auto, P, M, flash off etc), they only work once I have selected them, and then turned the camera off and back on. My flash seems to be stuck in the "suppressed" mode. Also the Manual on page 64 refers to a "turn" of the "command dial" to the "flash mode setting". Since that item is not described anywhere else and the only turnable dial is the "mode" dial, I assume that it means to press the flash mode arrow. When I do that nothing happens. After that my flash no longer works. When I switch into Flash mode it blinks and goes back to No Flash mode. Do you think it's the flash tube, the circuit or the battery that charges the flash? I opened the camera and nothing looks blown.

Hi, My D80 has suddenly developed a fault, where it registers the flash as open and in use even when its shut. This has the effect of syncing the shutter speed and limiting it to 1 200th in all modes. In addition, whilst the flash button will still change the flash mode using the command dials, it won't open the flash- almost like the camera thinks the flash is already open. I have tried prising open the flash, and it still doesn't fire even when open. There was no indication of a problem previ

I was needing a new flash for my sony a230 camera and I ordered a sony flash from accessorycircuit.com. Anyway to make a long story short, they were out of the flash I wanted and said that they had got the new Vivitar Pro 648 series flash in and that it was really good and would work with my camera. I wanted to read up and find out more before I bought it. I can only find out the tech specs on the vivitar pro648 on the vivitar site and that is the only place I can find out any info at all.

I am having problems with the flash working on my camera. It does not seem to matter if it is in automatic or manual modes. When I take a picture in either mode, when a flash is needed, the flash icon just blinks on the display. The camera will not take any photo when this is happening. I was taking test photos around the house with my new camera and the flash won't fire properly (the flash pops up out of the camera but it makes little sparking sounds and flickering on and off). My flash won't turn on for my iSonic digital video camera. The instructions say to press the "up" arrow on the camera in the capture mode.
