Having problems with your Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-W5 Digital Camera ?

Sony Cyber-Shot DSC-W5 Digital Camera power goes on and off automatically

Answers :

Your camera has most likely suffered a "lens error". This\015\012 is such a common fault that I hope you don't mind me pasting my stock \015\012generic answer below. No point in reinventing the wheel!

Stuck lenses are probably the most common \015\012reason that compact digital cameras get thrown away, but there's a fair \015\012chance of recovering use of your camera again

The fault is \015\012commonly caused by dirt or grit blocking the mechanism, or due to it \015\012having suffered a recent fall. Another common cause is that the camera \015\012was in a pocket or bag and the power button accidentally activated and \015\012tried to open the lens against resistance. The mechanism may have simply\015\012 become \015\012dislodged or there may be parts which have broken.

If your camera\015\012 is still under warranty and has definitely not been subject to misuse \015\012then contact the Sony service department in your country to find out about a free repair. If \015\012the warranty has expired though a professional repair will far exceed \015\012the\015\012 cost of replacing your camera. You will therefore have nothing to lose \015\012by \015\012trying to fix this yourself.

Please click here\015\012 and you will be taken to an excellent article provided by the Camera \015\012Repair website. For the most part, you'll be guided on how to physically\015\012 manipulate your camera to try and clear the fault.

Hi, I have the Sony Cyber Shot DSC-W130 digital camera - whilst away on holiday a message appears when I turn on the camera "turn power off and on again". I have done so many times but it still comes up with the same message - hence not allowing me to take any pictures. I can view existing images through the window and I can download them fine - I just can't take any new ones. There is plenty of space on the card and a full battery. Any suggestions?
