Having problems with your Sony Cybershot DSC-T200 Digital Camera ?

Hi We were trying to view over 600 photos from a recent trip. We plugged the camera into our computer and it only has 19 photos in 2 folders and has deleted all of the rest from the camera. The computer never gave us any any options or asked about saving, etc I have the sick feeling our photos are gone forever!!?

\015\012This does sound serious. However all may not be lost. I will preface this by saying there are no guarantees that this will work but there is a reasonable chance that it will.
\015\012If your photos were taken and stored on a digital card as opposed to the cameras internal memory there is a reasonable chance of recovery.
\015\012First off - do not take any more photographs using that card. Reason is that whatever hope there is of recovering the information - if you overwrite it with other photographs it will be gone forever.
\015\012This process assumes the photos were stored to a card.
\015\012First you will need a card reader on your computer. If you have not got one of these you can purchase a cheap multi-card usb reader that will do the job from the likes of Amazon or any hardware/computer store.
\015\012Next download and install this free program which is the 'Rolls Royce' of
\015\012photo recovery software in my opinion.
\015\012In the "File" menu of the program you will see "settings". Select "intensive mode". This is the most in depth setting. Follow the instructions - select this mode and allow the program to do its stuff.
\015\012Be aware that this program is extremely thorough - it will be slow and literally could take a whole night to run through and complete its task.
\015\012Finally - once you have recovered and saved the photos you want to your computer - make sure to use your camera to format your card to help prevent an issue like this occurring again. This will erase all data permanently from the card and reduce the potential for future corruption.
\015\012If this program does not work, then I'm afraid there is not much else you can do. You could engage a data recovery company to try and recover the information but this is likely to be extremely expensive (potentially upper hundreds or thousands).
\015\012I do hope this works for you.
\015\012If this has helped please do take a moment to accept and rate my solution andmany thanks for using FixYa.
