Having problems with your Vivitar Digital Cameras ?

I have a Vivitar ViviCamx024 camera wish I received as a xmas gift from my son I can't get the battery cover to go back on the camera and top part where holder is broke and the top were the power on and off is now uncovered. Can I return this to be fixed it's not even a year old.

Answers :

This camera ought to be under some kind of warranty if it is less than a year old, but I have no idea what that warranty might be. In the UK, normally within the first year you can return faulty items to the place where they were purchased for some kind of remedy. Elsewhere, you may need to apply to the manufacturer. You would need proof of purchase, and maybe the warranty documents, which your son may still have.

However, from your description of the problem, the retailer or manufacturer or service center may take the position that the camera has been damaged by dropping it or similar, which would not be covered by a warranty. Perhaps it would be covered under a household insurance policy.

Fixing an item like this is not always economic, particularly if you have to pay for it yourself. Even under warranty, the manufacturer will often just replace it with a new item rather than try to fix it. Perhaps you should look for a new camera, or let your son know that you are having another birthday this year!

Hi.. My Olympus Stylus 710 camera is one year old and I have been having problems with it recently. Basically the camera is unusable right now. When i press the power, the lens open halfway, the picture on the LCD is blurry and one second after the lens close and an error appears of the screen saying "D: 5f08 5f0e 5f08 5e02". Can you help me fix this problem? Sending the camera back to Olympus to fix will cost a bundle and where I live, no one fixes digital cameras.

No power after working sucessfully for a couple of years out of the blue the camera will not now turn on, I have tried various different batteries incase it was this but find it very strange that the camera should just die like this when it has not been dropped or damaged etc. I keep being told by people that it will probably cost more to replace the camera than to have it fixed, I find this hard to believe as it wasnt a cheap camera in the first place. can anyone please help

I have two olympus 1010 camera's. Both have been dropped. The lens is patially open and the cover not fully closed. One will turn on so you can see through the LCD but only the top third of the field is visible. When photos are taken that is what shows up. Also it tries to focus but can't get it clear. The second powers up with information on the LCD but instead of seeing through the camera you see black. Phots can be taken but they too are black. What is wrong and what can be done to fix them?

Lens Jam My G6 turned on accidentally in its case and the lens tried to extend but was forced to stop. Now, when I turn the camera on, the lens makes a ratcheting sound and gets halfway before stopping. It beeps and says "LENS" on the top LCD screen, before powering off. I've been quoted £160 just to have it looked at which is half the value of the camera! Does any one know how to open one of these up (safely) and what to do when you get inside to fix the problem?! I have a red Samsung camera, on top it says SL35, front says 10.2megapixels, 4x zoom. It hasn't worked for a while, and now my daughter really needs it for a field trip. when we power it on, the screen starts to light up, it beeps three times, then powers down. Is there any hope for this? nothing bad has happened to it, to the best of my knowledge. We've only had it for about a year.

The camera may be having a power or lens issue. Make sure the batteries are fully charged, or use some new alkalines, if in doubt. Make sure the terminals inside the camera are clean (use a qtip and alcohol, or a pencil eraser). \015\012 ... Samsung Digital Cameras

Won't work Have a C875 for a year now, and it has been working just fine. The other day I decided to try a AC adapter on it. Well, the AC adapter I used is one of those variable voltage ones. I set the voltage for 3 volts, plugged it in, it doesn't work. O.K. I put the batteries back in, still don't work. And, to top it off, the batteries get hot. Took the camera apart and I don't see anything burned up. Lost. Any help on what the solution could be and how to fix it would be greatly appreciated.

My Cannon Power shot SX120 is less than a year old, I havent dropped or otherwise abused it. One moment the camera was fine, the next moment it has really bad horizontal lines in the pictures. The closer you zoom the worse the lines are. The lines cover the entire picture from top to bottom. I have tried replacing the batteries with fresh ones, even tried a different memory card..nothing seems to help.

Have you tried to reset to original settings in the setup window. I would try that maybe..If that doesn't work then its probably an issue with your sensor unit which is apart of your lens. ... Canon PowerShot SX120 IS Digital Camera

The camera is 2 years old, when turning on the power it goes to the date set,you can change the year, then it slides over to the month, but seems froze up, then the camera resets itself, if you skip the date set up, it shows a view on the lcd, but can't take a picture, and the camera resets again. My son borrowed it and took pictures snorkeling, so it may have gotten wet, but the lcd screen is not distorted as it was a year ago when I got water in it.

I got my camera around January 2008 but I haven't gotten to use it for around a year and a half. This is the first time I can try to fix it due to costs and other problems.
