Having problems with your Digital Cameras ?
I have a new Canon PowerShot SX130 IS digital camera. I have my first four pictures on the camera. I have installed the camera software on an IBM ThinkPad T61. When I try to connect to move photos to my computer, I get the message "Failed to import images."
I have disconnected all USB cables except for the camera one, and then rebooted.

It seems like a known issue with Canon's software - with no solid solution so far... People inform that they get this error when trying to copy large amount of photos at once, but almost never when trying to copy smaller amount (about 25 photos each time).
Anyway, there are 2 work-arounds that I can advise you:
- Use a different software/method to transfer your photos. You can use the built-in Microsoft Scanner and Camera Wizard (instructions: Windows XP - here; Windows Vista/7 - make a shortcut to %systemdrive%\\Windows\\System32\\control.exe /name Microsoft.ScannersAndCameras on your desktop, and run it). Alternatively, use Picasa to arrange/copy your photos (instructions - here). \015\012
- Use a card reader (or a SD card slot on your laptop, if exist) and copy the photos manually, using Windows (normal copy/paste procedure, from the new drive that will be shown under My Computer...). This, by the way, is my preferred method.
If you are satisfied, rate my solution with the "thumbs" or (even better) add a testimonial.
Good luck and best regards,

I have a GE 8.0 megapixel camera E840s. Have always been able to download pictures onto computer with no problems. Now after connecting to computer, my camera says "connecting" but doesn't do anything. Then I get a message about options and if I pick "import photos" it will then begin to import ALL photos which are already on the computer rather than the most current. We deleted many photos to make room, thinking this would help. What's my problem? Thanks.

When I turn the camera on I get the message "memory card error". The only button on the camera which then works is the menu button but it just brings up the screen and then the same error message. My computer also fails to recognise the camera when I connect it via the usb port. Any bright ideas?
