Having problems with your Digital Cameras ?
Nikon 18-200mm VR lens doesn't seem to want to AF focus at full focal length 200mm distance. I bought this lens second hand on ebay and am not certain if there is a problem with this lens. If I try to shoot a picture at full focal length indoors it seem to be fine or relatively close shots but out side, full distance shots it wont work. The focal ring is at full focus and just turns with no change in the view finder but it needs more.
I have this lens mounted on my D80. When I push the shutter

I have a Canon zoom lens EF-5 18-55mm for my Canon EOS 450D. I am having trouble with my AF. If I set it on AF it will not focus automatically, but if I manually turn the lens for a close up it will then take the picture. Then and only then will the AF for long distance shot come into operation! After taking that shot it reverts back to not focussing. What can I do, if anything, to rectify this malfunction? Sony DSC-W100 I own a sony dsc w100 and it has been taking great photos. Unfortunatly I switched it on today and it no longer seems to be a ble to focus. I have cleaned the lens and the little circular piece of glass (think this bit measures distance for focus) but my photos are still blurred. The camera seems to permenantly have a little icon saying 'saf' in the bottom left corner of the screen. I wonder if this icon is the key to the problem and what it means? Is it a safe mode and if so how d

Nikon d3000 I made the mistake of recently dropping my new D3000 (Was in a padded case, and only fell a small distance) but since the fall my pictures are not at all in focus and are very foggy. Everything else seems fine except for the fact that a small black piece of plastic fell out, though I am not sure if it fell out of the lens or the camera body. My big question - do you think there is a problem with the camera body - or is it the lens? http://www.tiikoni.com/tis/view/?id=aaa702a (Pictu

I just received my Nikon D3100 in the mail today, and I was so excited. When I opened the lens cap on the camera body to put the lens on a small, clear-ish rectangle fell out. It was surrounded by a thin cooper colored frame that is easily removable. It looked like a little magnifying glass so I am kind of nervous. It seems to shoot pictures fine, but some times it tells me the shot is to dark even though I am in full light. It also took black pictures the first few times and if I point it di

I have a Canon EOS Digital Rebel, and just recently noticed an issue with the focus. I can't seem to focus in on anything, regardless of the distance, setting, lens, or if I'm in MF/AF. I'm guessing it has to be some sort of internal issue, but I don't know what this would be or how to fix it.

The focal length on my Nikon S52 Coolpix seems to be much shorter than it was originally. No matter the adjustment I make to the settings, at least part of the photo is extremely blurry. I have tried both with Auto-Focus on and off, but there is always a small square in the center of the view finder, and this is only region that shows a focused image. The camera used to produce sharp images throughout the picture. How can I adjust this?

Zoom lens mis-focusing. The lens "wizzes" in and out trying to focus. The lens will eventually "settle-into" focus; but sometimes this takes a number of seconds to accomplish. Also, the lens tends to "slip-out" of focus just as the button is depressed to take the photograph. Only problem seems to be with the lens focusing.

I have a Canon 20D camera that I use with two lenses. The lens that I have most of my problems with is the 28-70 f2.8 red ring lens. Focus problems I have 2 digital cameras already so I know to hold the button down 1/2 way for focusing. The Nikon is new. I HATE manuals. I am having trouble focusing on close up shots. They are either real blurry or slightly out of focus. It seems the shutter speed is so slow that any movement of my hand ruins the shot. I can take a shot of something, a plant for instance, pulled in fairly close. One shot may be ok and the next one is blurry
There are two likely reasons for the blurry pictures. One possibility is, as you surmised, a slow shutter speed. Try mounting the camera on a tripod or other stable support. You might also try turning on the flash. The other reason is focu ... Digital Cameras
My camera is in great condition and I'd hate to spend the money to get it fixed. It seems like everything else is working except for the lens...which is a big one! Trouble focusing I am using my D60 with a 18-55mm lens, i have it set on auto its been working fine until recently when it is unable able to focus when i press on the release button. All that seems to happen is the lens keep going in and out where it is trying to focus. I have removed the lens and checked the contact but its still not working help!!!
Not too many things that can do this are simple, but here are a few you can check. First, make sure you aren't too close for the lens to focus. For the 18-55, that's only about 5" from the front of the lens, so I doubt this is the problem. \ ... Nikon D60 Digital Camera

I have a canon EF 70-300 f/4.5-5.6 DO IS USM lens that has a zoom lock switch. When in the unlocked position and I try to zoom the lens it sticks at around the 200mm mark and cannot seem to move it below that positon, I need to wiggle the barrel before the zoom seems to "let go" and the lens goes to other positions. I have a D5000 camera w/ kit lens VR 55-200, less than a year old. Recently and only occasionally what is happening is when I press the shutter release button, the lens won't focus, it won't move in or out and it makes a odd noise, not the usual lens motor noise, but an odd squeaking noise, like it's trying to move but is stuck. The only way to correct it is to either shut the camera off and turn it back on again, or switch to manual focus, then back to auto. The battery is full, so it's not

Because I thought it landed lens first I bought another 18-55mm lens. However when I put the new lens on the auto focus on does not work on this one either. Any ideas whats on what is going on?
