The batteries in my canon powershot A460 get used out really fast. Too fast! I tried using rechargable and unrechargable batteries, bought a whole bunch by now and allways the same problem. I know a bit about electronics and I'm guessing the supply circuit in the camera is not working as it should, my opinion is that some capacitor has a wrong value.
Hi,That is a possibility but in most cases the camera's are just very very greedy and eat the power like a starving dog.The best way around this problem that i have found (my camera does the same) is to purchase plenty of batteries, prefe ... Canon PowerShot A460 Digital Camera
Low battery Every single time I use my Canon a 560 I have to put in new batteries. I am going on a trip soon and don't want to have to carry a Costco size pack of AA with me. Why is my camera using up the batteries so fast?
Digital cameras are like miniature computers, constantly processing large amounts of data, their power requirements far exceed film based cameras and conventional batteries are simply not up for the task. I have seen plenty of times where someone has ... Canon PowerShot A560 Digital Camera
I have a Sony Cybershot DSC-W5 5.1MP - purchased about four and half years ago (ancient in technology years I know) - but it's a good camera and has served me well. For about six months I've had issues with it staying powered on. Have used rechargeable batteries (the ones it came with) and same size Energizer rechargables forever (it takes double A batteries) - I thought it was the batteries I'd been using but bought a fresh pack of regular consumable double A's - Duracell and same problem - it

Bad Battery My DIgimax 530 has had battery problems for some time now. I know that this problem has not been like this forever. When I put a new battery in, it uses it quite quickly, then says low battery. The only problem is, when I test the batteries with my battery tester, it says that they are partially full (still in the "good" zone). I am just a kid and don't have much money, I use it for the video feature. It's warranty has timed out, Is there a simple solution?
Hi there,\015\012\015\012This isn't a 100% solution but it did help. I have had this camera for about 5 years now, and about 3 years ago the "low battery" signal kept appearing on my screen, it got to the point where it would just come o ... Samsung Digimax 530 Digital Camera
A week ago I purchased a Canon Ixus 970 digital camera. When using in dark conditions yesterday, I noticed two bright blue dots on the LCD screen. I've switched the camara off and on again and have taken the battery out and replaced it again, but they are still there in exactly the same place. Is this normal for a digital camera? I've had a couple of cheapo's before but have never had this problem. So it seems a bit strange that I have these irritiating dots on a £200 camera. Shoul

Canon PowerShot A495 - Brand new. Used it once and took 40 photos. It then told me to change the batteries which I did. From then on it keeps saying "change the batteries" I've used alkalines and also rechargeable NiMH, These are either new or fully recharged batteries and still I get the same message. I have also cleaned the terminals inside the camera and even those on the batteries themselves. No change. This is clearly not a battery problem. This is a camera problem and its seems I am not th

Batteries This camera has been the worst digital camera I have ever used. The pic quality is fine. The ease of use is fine. The problem lies in the battery longevity. Maybe that is not even the right description. I will put in new batteries and only use my camera for a short time. The next time I go to use the camera it is not at all uncommon for it to not turn on. Even though it has new batteries and was not left on, the batteries are dead. It happens with the rechargeable as well as re

BATTERY DISCHARGE I have an Olympus FE 210 Digital Camera and had been using the same for over 3 months. Recently I observed a problem in the same. When I put the camera on, I can browse on the LCD screen and can see the snaps available in the memory. I changed many sets of new batteries but the problem continues. I am not able to use the camera for c

Hi , My Fuji S9600 has just refused to power-up using batteries, although it still powers-up and operates correctly when i attach the mains PSU adapter. I wonder if this is a common occurrence on this model and how easy it is to get sorted. I have used rechargeable batteries since the camera was new (approx 3 yrs) and have tested the batteries as V.good. So i'm assuming that the problem is with the camera somewhere. Do you think if i reset the camera in the menu that would cure the problem , or

Battery life My AA 3000mah batteries don't last 30 mins before the camera switches itself off, indicating that the batteries are flat. When tested on a multimeter they read 1.24volts. The manual say I should get 300 shots using 2500mah batteries. The batteries have been discharged and charged up many times but still the same problem. I'm using Nimh type batteries that read 1.35v full charge and 1.24v when the camera shuts off. Is this a common fault with this camera ?
