Try NOT connecting your camera to your computer.\012\012\012

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program.

I am having problems with my USB connection between my camera, a Fuji FinePix E550 & my laptop. It has worked beautifully up until a few months ago, then occasionally I'd get a message that the device was not recognized....if I turned the camera off & on a few times, the computer would open it. Today, I've been trying all day to download some pics, have turned the camera on & off, tried the USB cable in all 4 USB ports on the laptop and it won't open it at all. My dell 531s desk top doesn't seem to "see" my vivitar 3915 camera. it issues the tones when the camera is plugged into the usb port, just doesn't add it to the list of usb devices it sees. my work system(s), (3) that run windows xp have no problem seeing the camera as a usb mass storage device. i have plugged the camera into all available usb ports on the 531s and have the same results. the 531s doesn't have a problem with any "jump", "thumb" type usb drives that i may plug in. any ideas gang?

I took several pictures this morning. Then I plugged the camera into the cradle and pressed USB port and connected the line from the cradle to the computer, an operation I have completed numerous times. This time nothing happened. No "import" showed up. I looked at help in iPhoto. It said to turn on the camera. I tried, but it would not turn on. I took it off the cradle and tried many times. No luck. Have I somehow accidentally locked the camera? Does it even have a lock feature?

I have had a Nikon CoolPix L110 for 10 months. I've never encountered a problem transferring pictures from my camera to my computer during this time...until now. When I connect my camera using the USB cable, Nikon Transfer opens as usual, but nothing happens after that. The source is not showing the camera. The camera works fine. I can view and take pictures. However, the difference this time is that my camera is full. Could that have something to do with it? I would like to be able to

Hi there. I have an Olympus E-510 that is about 3 years old. It's been working fabulous until just until recently. I connected the camera to my computer and downloaded some photos just like I always do with no problems - disconnecting it as I always do (USB). Nikon s6000 driver doesn't want to install. I've tried installing and unistalling the software suite multiple times.
