The problem is that the lens has become stuck in the barrel\012 after dropping it. There are some DIY solutions you could try, but the \012probability is that you will have to get it fixed by a professional.
Use\012\012\012\012\012\012\012 these at own risk as it may further damage the camera.
Firstly ,\012 try connecting your ac adapter or usb cable.
Try holding the \012shutter button while switching on the camera.
Look at the lens , \012and if some of the lens 'circles' is misaligned or not concentric then \012try wiggling it (while holding camera lens down).
Try gently \012pushing or pulling the lens when it extends but this is risky as it may \012cause the lens barrel to slip out of its guidance system.
Another\012 way to do this is to place the camera lens down on a hard surface and \012then power it up. Be sure to use a soft cloth or something similar as to\012 not scratch your lens or casing. Let the lens push the camera up and \012down a few times and sometimes the little resistance provided by the \012camera is enough to get things going again.
Try hitting your \012camera near the lens on the body with the soft tissue on the palm of \012your hand.
Other than that , I would take the camera to a repair \012center for a evaluation to see if it would cost more to repair than to \012replace the camera.
If it is still under warranty I would suggest\012 you take it in before trying any of these steps and remove any \012off-brand batteries or accessories as some stores are really fussy about\012 warranty repairs on camera's with non-brand accessories.
Hope \012the advise is useful.

White Screen Upon startup lens emerges but when screen appears it is white whereas it normally displays whatever the lens sees. When the shutter button is pressed the camera will focus and take a white picture which can be deleted. The camera does not flash although flash is set to automatic and photo taken in a dark room. Camera flashes (weakly) with flash set to manual on. Lens is unobstructed and appears to be perfectly normal. Camera was not dropped. Batteries have been changed.

Jvc gr-d73aa I have a jvc gr-d73aa video camera, and when I switch it on the "lens cap on" warning shows when the cap is off, and the screen is black like the cap is on, also it records a black screen but the sound is fine. I'm assuming a lens problem, can you help.

Camera lens The lens itself is making a strange noise and it is having trouble adjusting itself when the camera turns on. When I attempt to turn the camera on all you are able to see is a black screen and there is also a buzzing noise which I assume is the lense trying to adjust itself. The lens is trying to push itself outwards but it is getting stuck. I'm not exactly sure what is wrong with it but I assume that once Iam able to fix the lens I will be able to use the camera normally again.

The lens is extended a quarter inch when power on or off. When is turned on in any record mode it makes a slight non-metallic grinding noise and in about 33 seconds goes off after a beep warning. I just purchased (about one month ago)a Canon 50 D with 28-135 is. Yesterday I recieved a Canon 2.8 IS L 70 -200mm. When I mount the camera to the lens ( the 70-200) I notice a little wiggle in the mount attachment. I went back and checked to see if my other canon and Sigma lenses do this on the 50 d and they do. I just seems more noticeable with the larger lens. Is this normal?
The larger lens is longer and the wiggle is the same amount of play but closer to the end of the lens it moves more due to it being longer/larger. Just insure there is no substantial movement at the actual connection or lens and body. It should lock ... Canon EOS 50D Digital Camera with 28-135mm lens
Wobbly lens I have just purchased a Sony W130. It is my first ever camera. When the camera is off the lens section can be moved about 1/2mm with gentle movement of the camera. When zoom is fully extended it can be moved side to side by gentle pushing about 1 1/2mm. Is this normal or is the camera faulty? It doesn't seem to be affecting the pictures but everytime I use it I get a vibration warning on the screen.

A classic one... so it seems, but I could not find an answer here or elsewhere. My Lumix DMC-FP1 normally can be turned on by either opening the lens cover or by pushing the 'ON' button. It does not any longer recognize the fact that the lens cover IS open. When pushing ON it comes back with message "Please open lense cover", even with cover open. Yes the thing did fall ... I have downloaded service/repair manual but there are no hints on how to fix. Can it be fixed? That is the question.

Faulty Lens? I am having a problem with my camera. It works in the sense that it turns on and takes pictures. However, the both the digital lcd display and normal finder display remain black, even after removing the lens cap. I let a friend borrow it a little while ago and I suspect they may have changed some settings, but I'm not sure what to look for to fix it. When it takes pictures, they come out looking very distorted and strange. But, it does take pictures, the flash goes off and a picture records. c

No picture I have a FinePix S2 Pro that I have had a couple years. Yesterday when I took pictures with it every picture is black when viewed on the LCD screen. The lens cap is off and I have tried several different lenses and memory cards, adjusted the ISO, tried it with and without a flash, but still the same result. I can view previously recorded pictures, so I know its not the LCD screen. Could the CCD have gone bad? Any thoughts by anyone?
